- Smite 2’s Open Beta 4 update introduces the goddess Artemis, along with Cross-Gen and Classic skins.
- A new cosmetic, Thor Thunderstruck, has also been added in this February update.
- The patch also includes new features, UI improvements, gameplay adjustments, and more.
Hi-Rez Studios, the developer behind it, has unveiled the Open Beta 4 update for Smite 2. This update includes a refreshed character named Artemis, similar to the one seen in the original game, as well as a fresh selection of Cross-Gen and Classic skins. This significant Smite 2 update also incorporates UI improvements, general upgrades, tweaks to gameplay mechanics, changes for Gods and items, bug fixes, and additional features.
Smite 2 continues the storyline from the initial third-person Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game developed by Hi-Rez Studios, Smite, which brought a unique twist to the genre. Instead of the traditional top-down perspective found in most MOBA games, Smite offered innovative gameplay options and a fresh gaming experience. Expanding on this concept, Smite 2 delivers an upgraded visual gameplay experience that retains the elements that made the original game popular while introducing dynamic maps, improved character models, new animations, and additional features. The open beta for Smite 2 is already accessible, and the developers have continued to add new content for players to enjoy.
Similar to the last update on Smite 2, Hi-Rez Studios has rolled out a variety of additions including fresh gods, skins, and modifications spanning multiple game elements. One of the standout introductions in this update is a revamped version of Artemis, originally from the initial game, now playable in Smite 2. Artemis inflicts physical damage with her ranged basic attacks and boasts a passive ability that increases her damage output by 15% on gods and 30% on minions under Crowd Control effects. Furthermore, she comes equipped with new capabilities such as detecting hidden enemy gods in stealth grass and replenishing charges for her Vengeful Assault ability whenever she strikes an enemy god with basic attacks.
Additionally, skins from the original Smite are being introduced into the sequel, featuring Foxy Amaterasu, Frostchild Ymir as Baron, Hercules as La Roca, Cross-Gen skins like Summer Fun Medusa, Hellforged Thor, Lil Bites Sobek, and Nano-Mancer Baron Samedi. Furthermore, a new character, Thor Thunderstruck, has been incorporated into the game. The update has also improved several face models, including Aphrodite, Achilles, and Phantom Seas Poseidon.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that we’ve got some fresh updates! The Featured Store is now live, giving me a peek at all the skins launched in each patch. On top of that, there’s a snazzy Scoreboard QOL feature – it makes reading details about the gods much easier. Lastly, a few user interface enhancements have been added to make the gaming experience even smoother!
In addition to adjustments in gameplay for Titans, Minotaurs, and the Arena, a fresh aspect called Team Bench has been incorporated into Assault within this update. This feature allows players to view gods they’ve previously owned after re-rolling, and also enables teammates to swap their current pick with gods from the bench. The patch has additionally tackled problems related to quality-of-life improvements, Conquest, deities, and various other aspects. With this new update, Smite 2 now boasts a wealth of fresh content for players to explore as they dive back into the game.
