A year ago, we got a glimpse of “Smite 2”, billed as the sequel to the widely-loved third-person MOBA that employs Unreal Engine 5. “Smite 2” promises an enhanced experience over its predecessor, with upgraded visuals and combat mechanics. It also boasts a revamped marketplace for purchasing items, giving players flexibility in their choices regardless of the god they’ve chosen. Similar to the original “Smite”, players assume the roles of different deities from diverse cultures, engaging in 5v5 battles and sieging the enemy team. Following a closed alpha stage, the game is now open to all players.

Beginning January 14, the open beta for “Smite 2” was made accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. Players can download the game at no cost during this period. The latest update introduces new content, such as Aladdin, a character created exclusively for “Smite 2“. Aladdin possesses unique abilities, like running along walls and being revived after death thanks to his companion’s power, which grants him three wishes. In line with his legendary lore, Aladdin’s ultimate move involves using his lamp to capture opponents and challenge them to a one-on-one battle.

Furthermore, to excite fans, Smite 2 is reintroducing a fan-favorite game mode known as Joust, where teams go head-to-head on a compact 3v3 battlefield.
