This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.
Watching hunters in Solo Leveling, it’s clear that speed is incredibly important – it really separates the good from the great. I’ve noticed how characters like Sung Jin-Woo can move and react so quickly, it’s almost impossible to follow. Without that basic level of speed, hunters seem much more vulnerable, practically helpless when facing dangerous enemies. It’s a key skill for survival, honestly.
Fans of the manhwa Solo Leveling know that Sung Jin-Woo becomes incredibly fast after reaching his full potential – he’s considered the fastest hunter. While his speed is unmatched, some other hunters have quick reflexes and special abilities that allow them to briefly keep up. Here’s a look at the fastest hunters in Solo Leveling, from Sung Jin-Woo to those connected with the Rulers.
Sung Jin-Woo
Sung Jin-Woo’s Speed Is Immeasurable
I’ve seen a lot of hunters, and Sung Jin-Woo is just on another level when it comes to speed. It’s especially true now that he’s unlocked the Shadow Monarch’s full power. But honestly, even before that, he was already the fastest hunter in Korea, easily outpacing everyone else.
On Jeju Island, the cameraman lost track of the Ant King, and his movements weren’t clearly recorded unless the footage was slowed down. Even someone with exceptional senses, like Baek Yoon-Ho, had difficulty following him.
Jin-Woo is incredibly fast, able to defeat entire groups of powerful monsters before they even react. He can become even faster by using his Quicksilver skill.
Sung Il-Hwan
His Speed Rivals the Monarchs
Like Sung Jin-Woo, Sung Il-Hwan possesses incredible speed that rivals even the Monarchs. As a key figure controlled by the Rulers, his speed is powerful enough to challenge opponents at the Monarch level. During the Monarchs War, both Sillad and Rakan acknowledge his threat, as he can keep pace with their movements, defend Jin-Woo, and consistently block their attacks.
Sung Il-Hwan was incredibly fast – even a top-level hunter like Hwang Dong-Soo couldn’t compete. He defeated his opponent almost instantly, but his body couldn’t handle the immense power, and he eventually began to fall apart.
Thomas Andre
Able to Briefly Equal Jin-Woo’s Speed
Fans of Solo Leveling are aware that Thomas Andre isn’t known for his speed, but he’s not slow either. While he primarily relies on strength, he can still compete with Jin-Woo, who is much quicker and has faster reflexes.
Like Sung Il-Hwan, Thomas Andre is a Ruler’s vessel, granting him incredible physical abilities, including enhanced speed. During his battle with Jin-Woo at the International Guild Conference, he was able to briefly match Jin-Woo’s speed by using quick bursts of movement and reacting instinctively.
Liu Zhigang
China’s Skilled Master Swordsman
I have to mention Liu Zhigang – he’s considered China’s top hunter. I’ve heard he’s incredibly fast and strong, and people say he’s become one of the most respected hunters globally.
Liu Zhigang doesn’t have many impressive moments in Solo Leveling, but his battle with a huge swarm of flying ants in Season 2 highlighted his incredible speed and quick attacks.
Liu Zhigang is a highly skilled hunter at the national level, meaning he’s exceptionally fast and could easily keep pace with the best hunters.
Go Gun-Hee
Enhanced Speed Granted by Rulers
Considering his age, it’s amazing that Go Gun-Hee can still compete with Korea’s top hunters. His health isn’t what it used to be, meaning he’s past his peak. However, as a vessel for a Ruler – known as “S-rank Among S-ranks” – he remains incredibly powerful and fast, and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
It was clear that Go Gun-Hee was surprisingly resilient when attacked by the Frost Monarch Sillad. He skillfully used precise timing, quick movements, and his enhanced reflexes as a Ruler to dodge the deadly attacks and last much longer than anyone anticipated.
Goto Ryuji
Japan’s Strongest S-Rank Hunter
Despite a less-than-stellar fight against the Ant King in Jeju Island, Goto Ryuji remains one of the fastest and most skilled hunters at the S-rank level. The anime showed he was able to react to the Ant King’s sudden attack – something no other hunter could have survived.
During a practice match between Japanese and Korean S-rank hunters, Ryuji Goto actually managed to scratch Jin-Woo’s face, despite Jin-Woo not really trying to defend himself.
Cha Hae-In
She Has Demonstrated Incredible Speed Consistently
Image by A-1 Pictures Cha Hae-In’s speed is a major reason for her popularity in Korea. She’s one of the fastest hunters in the country, surpassed only by Jin-Woo, and moves with a fluid, dance-like grace.
Even without her magical powers, Cha Hae-In is incredibly fast. Before gaining those powers, she was a top-ranked track and field athlete, which likely explains her amazing agility now.
Throughout the series Solo Leveling, Cha Hae-In consistently demonstrates incredible speed. For example, during training before the Jeju Island ant raid, she quickly and accurately struck Kanae Tawata with multiple punches. She also managed to hit another top-level Japanese hunter before they could react, showcasing her remarkable reflexes.
