The author of Solo Leveling, Chugong, recently shared updates about the future of the series. As many fans know, both the original web novel and the Manhwa adaptation have already concluded.

The popular series Solo Leveling has continued with a spin-off called Solo Leveling Ragnarok, and the original web novel recently finished. While the comic adaptation is still being released, the author, Chugong, has hinted at a possible official sequel to Solo Leveling – but there’s a catch.

As a huge fan of Solo Leveling, I know a lot of us were excited about Solo Leveling Ragnarok, thinking it was the official continuation of the story. But it turns out, straight from the author Chugong himself, that Ragnarok is really just a fun gift to the fans! He doesn’t see it as the real sequel to Solo Leveling, which is interesting to hear.

However, Solo Leveling Ragnarok isn’t considered outside of the main story. According to the author, Chugong, it simply takes place in a separate universe. This means the story of Jinwoo as fans know it will have its own, distinct continuation.

The highlight of the interview was when Chugong hinted at potentially creating a sequel to Solo Leveling himself. Here’s what he shared:

Ragnarok was created as a treat for fans of the series. I wanted to see a different author’s take on the world of Solo Leveling. While it takes place in the same universe, it doesn’t follow directly after the main story. Think of it as an alternate timeline, like the different universes you see in Marvel stories. I’m also thinking about potentially writing a sequel myself down the line.

Solo Leveling is incredibly popular right now, and many fans adore characters like Sung Jinwoo. This is a great time for the author, Chugong, to capitalize on this success and create a new story to keep the series alive. A sequel to Solo Leveling is a definite possibility, and it would likely follow Sung Jinwoo again, featuring the same beloved characters we’ve come to know.
