Solo Leveling Gets New Promising Update

This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.

In just a few years, Solo Leveling has become a major anime hit. While the original web novel had a dedicated fanbase, the anime adaptation brought it to a much wider audience. The first season premiered in 2023, and after a two-year wait, the second season was released in 2025.

The first season of Solo Leveling was well-received, but the second season was a huge step up. It featured more action-packed battles and tougher opponents for Sung Jinwoo to overcome as he fought to protect the world. The latest season proved incredibly popular, breaking several records on Crunchyroll. Fans eagerly anticipated an announcement for a third season from A-1 Pictures, but it never came. Since then, rumors about the future of the anime have been conflicting, with some suggesting it might even be canceled.

Solo Leveling’s Other Projects Are Going Smoothly

  • Two new Solo Leveling projects have been revealed
  • Solo Leveling Season 3 will happen at some point

I’ve been keeping an eye on Solo Leveling, and while we’re still waiting for news on Season 3, a couple of other things have come out. There’s a new JRPG called Solo Leveling Overdrive, which is already available on PC and Xbox. It’s gotten pretty good reviews on Steam, but a lot of fans are upset with how Netmarble has been handling the release. It seems like many feel the game was rushed out just to make money from the fanbase.

Solo Leveling Live Action Series Has Been Confirmed By Netflix

The second project based on Solo Leveling is a live-action series coming to Netflix. Actor Byeon Woo-seok will star as Sung Jinwoo. Woo-seok is known for his roles in popular and critically acclaimed shows like 20th Century Girl and Lovely Runner.

The new live-action series is set to be a visually stunning adventure filled with memorable characters, exciting action, and thrilling journeys. A talented international team of visual effects artists will bring these elements to life, alongside incredible creatures and magical dungeons, raising the bar for live-action adaptations.

Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo will be directing the series alongside the lead director, and Sanai Pictures is handling production. Everything suggests the live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling will be very popular. While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, we can expect one in the next few months.

With two new Solo Leveling projects announced, the series is clearly more popular than ever. This means fans can rest assured – a third season is definitely happening. However, it might be a while before any official announcement is made.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Be Announced In 2026

It’s been a while since the second season of Solo Leveling finished, and fans are getting worried about when the next episodes will be released. As of today, neither A-1 Pictures nor Crunchyroll has announced any updates about the show’s return or a release date.

I stand as proof of your hardships, a testament to your fight, and the peace you’ve earned through pain. I am Death, offering both finality and lasting peace, and inspiring fear in all. —Ashborn

The studio might be waiting to make an announcement until production actually starts. Right now, A-1 Pictures is already working on several other projects – Too Many Losing Heroines!, Eisen Flügel, and Fate/strange Fake – so they might be stretched thin and lacking the staff needed for Solo Leveling. However, things could change by 2026. A-1 Pictures will likely want to take advantage of Solo Leveling’s popularity by releasing a second season, and everyone hopes they don’t delay it until 2027.

Solo Leveling Might Release A Movie Instead

Considering the huge success of the Demon Slayer movie, A-1 Pictures might be considering making a movie instead of a third season of Solo Leveling. They could be tempted to adapt several story arcs into a single film. While Demon Slayer’s success is inspiring, it’s important to remember that Solo Leveling doesn’t have quite the same level of popularity.
