Solo Leveling is an anime and manhwa known for its thrilling battles and exciting action sequences. Since its official debut in January 2024, the series has delivered some truly memorable fights, like Jinwoo versus Igris, Jinwoo versus Baran, and the epic showdown between Jinwoo and The Ant King in Season 2, Episode 12, which aired on Crunchyroll on March 22, 2025.
Although these fights are all impressive, fans are especially excited for the upcoming battle between Sung Jinwoo and Thomas Andre, which will be shown in future seasons of the story. While we’ll have to wait to see it animated, the fight has already been released as part of Solo Leveling: ARISE.

Solo Leveling: Arise is a hit video game based on the Solo Leveling story. Released in 2024 by Netmarble for mobile and PC, it’s become incredibly popular, and is currently the most expansive game in the Solo Leveling universe. Fans won’t be disappointed!
As a huge Solo Leveling fan, I’ve been blown away by the extra content in Arise! They’ve been dropping these amazing animated scenes you won’t find anywhere else, and recently they released a trailer of Sung Jinwoo battling Thomas Andre. It’s done with the in-game character models, so it’s different from the usual anime promotional videos, but honestly, it’s so cool to get a sneak peek at what’s coming up! And the best part? This trailer is just a taste – the full fight will be available in the next game update. I can’t wait!
The fight between Jinwoo and Thomas Andre is easily one of the most exciting in the series. It pitted Jinwoo against the world’s strongest officially ranked Hunter, Andre, a powerhouse capable of incredible destruction. The video highlights the start of their battle, showing Jinwoo calling forth his Shadow Army and immediately charging towards Andre.
Jinwoo Vs Thomas Andre Anime Release Date
I was really thrilled to see Sung Jinwoo and Thomas Andre’s fight recreated as a video game cutscene – it definitely got a lot of fans, myself included, even more hyped for the anime! Everyone’s now wondering when A-1 Pictures and Aniplex will bring that epic battle to the Solo Leveling anime. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet on when we can actually expect to see it animated, but the anticipation is definitely building.
A leaked report from late 2025 suggests the next Solo Leveling project will be a movie. While this is great news, it likely means fans will have to wait several years to see the highly anticipated fight between Jinwoo and Thomas Andre. Movies can only cover so much story, and it’s unlikely the adaptation will go beyond the Double Dungeon Arc. Since the Jinwoo vs. Thomas Andre battle happens much later in the original manhwa, and considering the current animation pace, we estimate fans will have to wait at least 3-4 years. The studio’s decisions regarding the story’s pacing could also affect this timeline.

Assessing The Power Difference Between Jinwoo and Andre
I’ve seen a lot of Hunters, and both Jinwoo and Thomas Andre are definitely at the National level – truly top tier. Thomas Andre is usually considered the strongest among them, even above guys like Christopher Reed and Liu Zhigang. But honestly, by the time Jinwoo fights him, I knew Thomas didn’t stand a chance. Jinwoo had already unlocked and awakened his Black Heart, and he’d gotten so much stronger from everything he’d been through, especially the challenges in the Double Dungeon. He was just on another level.
Despite using his Spiritual Body Manifestation, Thomas Andre is easily defeated and isn’t a significant threat to Jinwoo. However, he could pose a challenge to Jinwoo as he was at the end of Season 2. Ultimately, this fight will demonstrate why Jinwoo is considered the world’s best Hunter, and that only the most powerful Monarchs have a chance against him, especially when facing a top National Hunter.
