Solo Leveling Has Officially Beaten The Best Next-Gen Manga Series

Solo Leveling is a hugely popular anime, largely thanks to its exciting and action-packed fight scenes. The series quickly gained a following after its first season, but the release of Season 2 earlier this year took its popularity to a whole new level, making it a favorite among anime fans.

The popular anime adaptation of *Solo Leveling* has significantly boosted sales of the original Korean comic, known as a manhwa. In fact, *Solo Leveling* recently outperformed the hugely successful anime series *Jujutsu Kaisen*. For September, *Solo Leveling* topped The New York Times bestseller list for graphic novels and manga, while *Jujutsu Kaisen* came in third. However, this ranking doesn’t necessarily mean *Solo Leveling* has surpassed *Jujutsu Kaisen* in total sales numbers.

Solo Leveling Volume 13 Outsells Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 27 This Month

Solo Leveling Takes the Top Spot for Graphic Novels and Manga on the NYT Monthly Bestseller List, Surpassing Even Batman

It’s no surprise that Solo Leveling has become incredibly popular this year. The anime adaptation was a massive success with international audiences, leading to a surge in sales of the original manhwa. Anime often serves as a fantastic way to promote the source material, and in Solo Leveling’s case, it’s done just that. While strong sales were expected, few predicted that it would actually outsell the hugely popular series, Jujutsu Kaisen.

Atsushi Kaneko expressed excitement about the series’ reception, but noted that ‘Solo Leveling’ isn’t yet a household name in Japan. As a resident of Japan, he feels it hasn’t reached the same level of popularity as established anime like ‘Dragon Ball,’ ‘One Piece,’ or ‘Naruto.’ He believes a third season could be the key to achieving broader recognition.

According to The New York Times’s bestseller list for September, the graphic novel and manga series *Solo Leveling* topped the charts with its 13th volume. This is a significant achievement, especially considering that *Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 27* was also released this month. *Solo Leveling* not only outperformed *Jujutsu Kaisen*, but also surpassed popular titles like *Batman*, demonstrating the series’ growing popularity.

Is Solo Leveling Bigger Than Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jujutsu Kaisen Still Has More Sales Overall

Both *Solo Leveling* and *Jujutsu Kaisen* are incredibly popular anime and manga, and *Solo Leveling* recently had a win by ranking higher on The New York Times list this month. However, *Jujutsu Kaisen* remains the more successful series overall, having sold over 100 million copies. While exact sales figures for *Solo Leveling* aren’t available, it hasn’t yet reached that level of popularity.

The difference is still significant, and it’s likely to grow even larger with the upcoming Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, which is expected to drive a huge increase in manga sales.

I can’t officially announce Season 3 yet, but we really need everyone’s support to make it happen. Just like Son Goku’s Spirit Bomb – which gathers energy from everyone to defeat a foe – we need fans around the world to rally behind Solo Leveling for the next season to become a reality. – Atsushi Kaneko

I’m totally hooked on Solo Leveling! There are currently two seasons available – the first has 12 episodes and the second has 13, bringing the total to 25 episodes you can binge right now. You can stream it all on Crunchyroll, which is perfect while we’re all eagerly waiting for news about season 3. If you just *need* more Solo Leveling in your life before then, I highly recommend checking out the original manhwa – it’s fantastic!
