He skillfully records live action of the heart-wrenching battles on Jeju Island, but what exactly is his strength level?

Nevertheless, this renowned Camera Operator from the series “Solo Leveling” summons every ounce of his bravery and carries out his duties diligently, praying that these S-rank hunters can ultimately bring an end to the Ant Queen and her numerous offspring.
Who Is the Cameraman on Jeju Island?
The Cameraman’s Name Is Unknown

In the tenth episode of season 2, titled “We Need a Hero,” in the popular series Solo Leveling, the unnamed Cameraman makes his initial appearance among the Korean hunters. Though neither his name nor identity is explicitly disclosed, he remains an enigma for both anime and manhwa followers. In the animated version, he’s simply known as a photographer, whereas in the comic book (manhwa), he introduces himself as the Cameraman hailing from the official hunter’s reporting center.
As the Camera Operator himself explains, he’s proficient in capturing hunters on film. He further discloses that the Jeju Island raid will be aired live on TV with a 10-minute delay, enabling the editing team to trim out any awkward or poorly executed shots of the hunters. Given this, renowned hunters such as Ma Dong-Wook and Baek Yoon-Ho are worried about the Camera Operator’s safety. Since they can’t ensure his wellbeing, it ultimately falls on him to protect himself.
“You know, Mr. Cameraman, you need to understand that your life is in your own hands.”—Ma Dong-Wook
In spite of this, the cameraman keeps a resilient and optimistic outlook, reassuring the hunters not to fret about him in the least. He further explains that he’s become accustomed to the perils of filming and has found himself in many precarious scenarios during his career. However, he acknowledges that he must exercise even greater caution since no circumstance might equal the calamity on Jeju Island.
The Cameraman’s Role on Jeju Island
Breaking Records Is a Must

Upon reaching Jeju Island, the cameraman begins transmitting video globally right away. Instead of prioritizing safety, he’s preoccupied with the technical aspects of his feed, such as its clarity and lighting. With the darkness inside the hive causing him concern about whether the footage will be watchable, he carries on filming without any instructions from headquarters to alter his lighting or position.
The cameraman bravely captures every moment as the raid succeeds, even with his own life at stake, right up until the late arrival of Sung Jin-Woo. His commitment proves worthwhile, as the live broadcast exceeds 85% viewership – a remarkable first for the reporting center. Viewers across Korea and worldwide watch through the cameraman’s lens as Korean hunters take on an S-rank dungeon breach for the first – and perhaps last – time.

How Strong Is the Cameraman on Jeju Island?
The Cameraman Is an A-Rank Hunter

At first glance, the Cameraman appears to be a mediocre hunter, but in truth, he holds the rank of A-class hunter, placing him alongside Master Park Jong-Soo of the Knights guild. His specific role as a hunter is unclear, but based on his appearance, he seems to be a fighter or tank type. He casually mentions Byung-Gu being a superior fighter despite being a healer, which might suggest his own hidden class. The Cameraman is an A-rank hunter, yet he prefers not to participate in dungeon raids, choosing instead to lead a normal life. Hunting, however, is merely a secondary endeavor for him, a side job that remains just as perilous as any other.
On Jeju Island, it’s astonishing how the Cameraman manages to elude detection by the Ant King, as if he were invisible to this formidable foe. This could be due to his subtle presence that seems to render him undetectable against such a dangerous adversary. Alternatively, the Ant King may have chosen to ignore him because he had never threatened the Ant Queen or her offspring in the beginning.
“I may look like this, but I’m an A-rank hunter.”—Cameraman on Jeju Island
When the top-tier hunters find themselves in a tight spot, the Cameraman trembles and collapses at the prospect of death. He doesn’t dare resist and instead reminisces about his final moments with his father. Fortunately, one of Sung Jin-Woo’s phantoms appears promptly to save him from certain doom.
In the intense battle on Jeju Island during the storyline of Solo Leveling, numerous characters lost their lives. Remarkably, the Cameraman managed to emerge from the raid completely unharmed, not even suffering any significant injuries. It’s possible that luck had a major impact on his survival, and perhaps his seemingly insignificant aura played a role in helping him evade the Ant King and the mutated ants.
