Solo Leveling Might Be the Next Big Anime Film After Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer are both incredibly popular anime this year. They’ve gained huge fanbases because of their exciting action sequences, impressive animation, and straightforward storylines. People frequently draw comparisons between Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer, particularly given Crunchyroll’s choice of Solo Leveling as Anime of the Year, which solidified its status as a worldwide hit.

There’s a significant difference in popularity between Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer, particularly in Japan. Demon Slayer has become a major part of the culture there, while Solo Leveling hasn’t achieved the same level of fame. Even so, Solo Leveling still has a promising future, and could potentially be adapted into a movie. Given its large and dedicated fans around the world, Solo Leveling might even become the next big anime film, following the success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.

Sung Jin-Woo’s Voice Actor Wants a Solo Leveling Movie

Taito Ban Hopes to Continue Working on Future Solo Leveling Projects

  • Jin-Woo’s Japanese VA, Taito Ban, wants more Solo Leveling projects.

I’m completely blown away by how popular Solo Leveling has become, and it feels like it’s just getting *bigger*! Everyone’s buzzing about potential new anime seasons and even a movie! Honestly, I, like fans everywhere, am obsessed with Sung Jin-Woo – the story of the weakest hunter becoming the strongest is just incredible. And that one line, “Arise,”? It’s become totally iconic and instantly recognizable! It really has captured everyone’s attention.

The role of Jin-Woo in the Japanese dub will be voiced by Taito Ban, who you may recognize as Soyuz from Dr. Stone: New World, Luvix Lilix in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and Tao Gwen from Kowloon Generic Romance. Similar to many fans, Sung Jin-Woo’s voice actor is thrilled about the potential of Solo Leveling, and is looking forward to future anime seasons and a possible movie.

Yes, we completed recording both season one and season two. I’m really hoping we can keep the show going, though, because there’s still a lot more story to explore. Ideally, we’d get season three, season four, season five, and perhaps even a movie at some point.

I can really see how much Taito Ban cares about Solo Leveling – he’s just as enthusiastic as the fans! He understands what we want: to see more of Sung Jin-Woo and his incredible fights. Now that Solo Leveling Season 2 is over, everyone is incredibly excited – both the fans and the voice actor for Jin-Woo – and we’re all looking forward to seeing what happens with the Shadow Monarch in Season 3.

Solo Leveling Might Receive a Big Movie Soon

Solo Leveling Has Big Cinematic Potential

  • Solo Leveling has the potential to release a high-profile movie sometime in the future.

It’s common for successful anime series to release major movies occasionally. These films might tell completely new stories that build on the existing world, or they could revisit familiar plotlines with improved animation and a smoother flow. Demon Slayer is a great example, consistently performing well in theaters, not only with recap movies, but also with huge hits like Mugen Train and Infinity Castle.

As Solo Leveling gains more fans, the anime has a strong chance of becoming very successful, much like other popular series. If upcoming seasons do well, particularly in Japan, it could build enough excitement for a major movie, similar to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. However, even without strong support in Japan, Solo Leveling still has a big potential to release a blockbuster movie, bringing Jin-Woo’s most impressive battles to the big screen due to its already established international fanbase.

However, Solo Leveling had a compilation movie released in November 2024 called Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-. This movie summarized the first season’s story and gave fans a sneak peek at the beginning of the second season, showing the first two episodes.

Is Solo Leveling Season 3 Turning Into a Movie?

Solo Leveling Could Release a Compilation Film Before Season 3

As of right now, Solo Leveling Season 3 hasn’t been officially confirmed. Because of this, the people making the series might decide to work on other things to maintain interest, like spin-offs, OVAs, or even films that collect the best moments so far. It’s all about keeping the excitement going!

It’s highly probable that another compilation movie will come out before Solo Leveling Season 3 begins, allowing viewers to relive Season 2, similar to how they experienced Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-. However, a movie covering the Double Dungeon Arc isn’t out of the question, as it’s a story arc fans are eagerly waiting for. This arc is particularly intense and frightening, featuring massive statues-including the Statue of God-and introducing the person who created the System.
