At the recent Aniplex Online Fest, fans of Solo Leveling were eager for news about a potential third season, but unfortunately, there wasn’t an update. Despite that, the event still featured several exciting announcements, including the confirmation that a new anime called Inherit the Winds is in development.

Aniplex had been considering the anime *Inherit the Winds* for five years, according to reports. It’s an original anime-not adapted from a manga or other existing work-so getting it approved likely took time, as these kinds of projects are generally more challenging to move forward with.

With the anime officially announced, Aniplex is expected to put a lot of effort into making it a hit. The animation studios have been set: Drive and Live2D Creative Studio will be working together. Tomohiro Kawamura, known for his work on ‘Air Bound’ and ‘Miru: Paths To My Future’, is directing, and Yutaka Narui is handling the screenplay. While the team may not be full of extremely famous creators, Aniplex clearly believes in their talent and trusts them with this significant project.

I’m really excited about the story of Inherit the Winds! It’s a fresh take on things, unlike a lot of anime out there. It’s set in Kyoto, right at the end of the Edo period, and follows a young soldier who’s lost his memory and somehow gets mixed up with the Shinsengumi. We don’t have a release date yet, but Aniplex has promised to share more details soon, and I’m eagerly awaiting them!
