The following contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa and anime.
The series “Solo Leveling” is renowned for its intense focus on its main character, Sung Jinwoo. His remarkable development and rise to become the greatest hunter has resonated with many readers worldwide. Beyond this central figure, the narrative also introduces several intriguing characters, albeit less extensively than they might warrant. Nevertheless, these characters have left a lasting impact on fans due to their compelling portrayal.
In contrast, it’s usually the high-tier characters such as S-rankers and National Level Hunters who leave a significant impression. Yet, in “Solo Leveling” Season 3, there might be a shift as a deserving A-ranker takes center stage.
Jinchul’s Promotion in the Korean Hunters Association
Woo is Set to Become the Next Chairman
- Webtoon Debut: Chapter 11
- Anime Debut: Episode 1
Jinchul Woo initially gained significant attention following the Double Dungeon catastrophe. Tasked with confirming if Jinwoo had experienced a resurgence, he conducted a mana test which hinted at a false alarm instead. Later, he encountered Sung once more, following Kang Taeshik’s demise, and cautioned him about Hwang Dongsoo, an S-ranker who intended to target him.
Embracing battles against monstrous foes, ensure you don’t transform into one yourself. And as you peer deeply into the void for extended periods, remember that it may just be staring back at you in return! – A curious enthusiast
Jinchul’s standout moment occurred during the Red Gate arc. He intervened to prevent a catastrophe by halting Baek Yonhoo and Dongsoo from engaging in a destructive fight. Remarkably, as an A-ranker, he demonstrated extraordinary bravery by risking his own life to pacify the two high-tier S-rankers who were on the verge of clashing.
Over the recent narrative arcs, I’ve noticed Woo making numerous appearances that have left fans in awe of his calm reasoning and apparent leadership skills. For some time now, he’s been connected to the Korean Hunters Association, playing a significant part in its administration. However, it seems his storyline has yet to reach its climax.
In the third season of Solo Leveling, nearly every hunter organization is likely to face either a crisis or a significant change in leadership. A series of unforeseen events will compel the Korean Hunters Association to seek a new leader outside of Go Gunhee. This triggers a meeting led by Woo Jinchul with other key figures within the management, where they discuss and decide who among them is fit to take over from Gunhee.
It came as a shock to him that his peers would contend that Jinchul is the ideal candidate for the position. Given that he has served as Go’s deputy and boasts numerous years of experience, it’s no wonder. Moreover, among the Korean Hunters Association, after Gunhee, Jinchul is most like Sung Jinwoo. These circumstances lead to the likelihood that Woo will be chosen as the next Chairman.
Despite initially questioning his worthiness, Jinchul will take up the offer and assume leadership of the Korean Hunters Association. This transition will bring about significant effects, as turmoil and unrest permeate the world over the ensuing months.
What Makes Jinchul an Ideal Successor of Go Gunhee?
Woo is the Perfect Leader for the Korean Hunters Association
It’s quite clear that Woo Jinchul isn’t nearly as powerful as Go Gunhee. In fact, among A-rankers, he appears to be weaker than many guild masters in Korea. Given the Korean Hunters Association’s esteemed status and its role in maintaining order and enforcing rules within hunter organizations, one might question whether a leader with less strength is suitable for the position of Chairman, considering this scenario. Is it rational to think that Woo Jinchul’s ascension to the Chairmanship makes sense, taking these factors into account?
Although some spectators may harbor reservations, which are valid in many ways, it’s crucial to realize that heading a hunter organization involves more than just raw power. Leadership encompasses far more than physical strength or an intimidating presence. Woo Jinchul excels particularly in rational decision-making and has a knack for managing people effectively. He also knows how to navigate around potential conflicts.
In addition to possessing these remarkable traits, his collaboration with Go Gunhee positions him as a strong candidate for succession, given his familiarity with the past chairman’s methods. There is no Korean hunter who can match his level of experience in this field. Moreover, he has been an integral part of Sung Jinwoo’s journey during almost every crucial juncture. Few people know Jinwoo as well as him does.
In light of Sung’s remarkable feats shaping Korea’s future significantly, it seems logical that someone closely associated with him should assume leadership. Among the contenders, Jinchul stands out as an ideal choice; however, he faces a formidable test ahead.
As the Monarchs rise, there’s a looming sense of turmoil for humanity, and it falls upon Woo to protect the wellbeing of the Korean populace. The question is whether he can outperform expectations and prevent Korea from bearing the brunt of a malicious plot.
Solo Leveling Season 3 is expected to release sometime between 2026 and 2028.
