This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Sung Jinwoo is the central character in Solo Leveling, and his journey is marked by incredible growth. He starts as a very weak Hunter – ranked E – barely able to fight even the simplest monsters.
Things really changed for him after what everyone calls the Double Dungeon Incident – that’s when he became known as the Player. It took some getting used to, but after days of intense training, he finally started to understand and control his new abilities.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Reveal Sung Jinwoo’s Dark Side
Jinwoo Will Kill Anyone Who Threatens His Family

- Sung Jinwoo’s first priority is his family
- Jinwoo has always been protective of his family members
The anime didn’t just show the hero getting physically stronger; it also focused on his emotional growth. At first, Jinwoo lacked self-confidence and struggled to assert himself. But after becoming the Player, he gained pride and became more confident. As he learned more about his powers, his self-assurance continued to grow.
During the second season, Jinwoo explained that he battled so many powerful foes to gather the components for the Elixir of Life. Once he created the potion, he felt even more stress, worrying it wouldn’t be able to revive his mother despite all his efforts. Fortunately, the elixir worked, and his mother woke up, which moved Jinwoo to tears. This showed just how much his family meant to him.

Season three of Solo Leveling will introduce new and dangerous enemies, some of whom will target Jinwoo’s family. While Jinwoo consistently tries to anticipate and overcome challenges, he’ll face situations where he’s caught off guard. This season will cover the Ahjin arc, meaning viewers will see how Jinwoo responds when those closest to him are put in danger.
Throughout the story, Jinwoo repeatedly demonstrates his fierce dedication to protecting his family. When his sister, Sung Jin-ah, is attacked by dangerous orcs, he rushes to her rescue, though a raid initially delays him – he sends Beru in his place. Arriving at the scene, he brutally eliminates the orcs, reaffirming his willingness to do anything for his loved ones. Later, during the International Guild Conference, Jinwoo’s protective instincts surface again when he angrily threatens any guilds that attempt to harm his father, Sung Il-Hwan. These moments reveal a darker, more ruthless side of Jinwoo, where his single-minded focus is eliminating any threat to his family.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Introduce Bigger Threats
Jinwoo Will Face The Monarchs In The Upcoming Season

Season 3 of Solo Leveling promises to be even more epic than the previous two seasons. Jinwoo will encounter powerful new enemies and finally learn some long-held secrets, including the mystery of why he was chosen by the System. The core of Solo Leveling has always been Jinwoo overcoming incredible challenges, and fans can expect more of that in the upcoming season as he continues to grow stronger.
As of today, we still don’t know when the new season will be released. The studio hasn’t officially announced it yet, which is making many fans anxious. However, most people believe A-1 Pictures will confirm the third season soon.

While many believe Season 3 of Solo Leveling won’t arrive until 2028 due to the studio’s current workload, a 2027 release seems more probable. Waiting three years would be a long time for fans eager to see Sung Jinwoo return. Solo Leveling is known for its stunning animation, and the studio likely wants to maintain that quality, so they need enough time for production without feeling rushed. A rushed production could ultimately hurt the anime’s overall quality.
