Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Reveal The Strongest Character In The Series

This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.

Watching the first two seasons of Solo Leveling, it became really obvious that Sung Jinwoo would constantly face opponents stronger than himself. It felt like these powerful characters weren’t meant to defeat him, but rather to serve as challenges he needed to overcome on his path to becoming the greatest Hunter ever. In the second season especially, he battled a lot of incredibly strong enemies, and a few of them actually managed to get the upper hand for a while.

By the end of the second season, Sung Jinwoo had become stronger than nearly all other hunters in Korea. He was incredibly powerful, able to compete with top-tier hunters like Beru. While Jinwoo is undeniably strong, he isn’t the most powerful character in the series, Solo Leveling.

The Architect Will Make His Debut In Solo Leveling Season 3

  • The Architect will appear in the third season
  • The Shadow Monarch will reveal his strength

Season three of Solo Leveling sees Sung Jinwoo returning to the Cartenon Temple, the location where his journey began. Although he received the temple key earlier, he wisely chose to focus on establishing his own guild first. Naming the guild proved to be a challenge, but he ultimately decided on “Ahjin Guild.” With the guild settled, Jinwoo finally made his way to the Cartenon Temple.

When Jinwoo unlocked the entrance, memories of his previous visit to the temple rushed back to him, including a near-fatal encounter with the statues. This time, however, he felt confident things would be different. Soon after entering, he was challenged by Kandiaru, the creator of the System, who stated that Jinwoo would only receive the information he sought if he succeeded in the test.

Sung Jinwoo was ready for the challenge, so he immediately began demolishing the statues. Following their destruction, the God Statue began its onslaught, only to be crushed by Jinwoo. Once all of them had been dealt with, Kandiaru gave Jinwoo one last challenge, and that was to beat the Architect within 10 minutes. If Jinwoo failed to beat the Architect within the time limit, he would die.

The Architect Overpowered Sung Jinwoo

As Jinwoo fought the Architect, it quickly became apparent that the Architect was much stronger. Jinwoo used all of his most powerful attacks, but the Architect easily blocked each one. Despite being outmatched, Jinwoo didn’t give up – a trait he’d always possessed. Eventually, Jinwoo started to turn the tide of the battle and was finally able to defeat the Architect.

The Shadow Monarch Will Make His Debut In Season 3

After being defeated, the Architect surprised Jinwoo and paralyzed him. While helpless, Jinwoo witnessed a fierce battle between Ashborn and Rakan and Baran. He saw Ashborn defeat and kill Baran, and later watched Ashborn triumph again against Rakan’s army of magical beasts. This brief flashback clearly showed Ashborn’s incredible power. If the upcoming season covers the Monarchs War arc, viewers will gain an even deeper appreciation for just how strong Ashborn is, though this seems unlikely.

I stand as proof of your hardships, a testament to your fight, and the solace you’ve earned through pain. I am Death, offering both finality and peace, and inspiring fear in all. —Ashborn

The Shadow Monarch was incredibly powerful. He possessed an enormous amount of magical energy, enabling him to maintain his vast Shadow Army. He was also physically dominant – Ashborn could defeat someone like Rakan with relative ease. Because Jinwoo gained Ashborn’s abilities, he became the strongest character in Solo Leveling, surpassing the Shadow Monarch.

The Wait For Solo Leveling Season 3 Goes On

A-1 Pictures Hasn’t Announced The Third Season Yet

Everyone’s eagerly awaiting the third season of Solo Leveling, and it’s sure to be action-packed! However, we still don’t have any news about when it will be released. The second season finished in March 2025, and the studio and Crunchyroll haven’t shared any updates since then. This lack of information suggests they might not be ready to begin production yet. Creating an anime like Solo Leveling requires a lot of work, and the studio won’t compromise on the high-quality animation that makes the show so popular.

As a huge Solo Leveling fan, I was really hoping to get some news about Season 3 earlier this year. Unfortunately, when some of the staff were asked about it, their responses actually made everyone more worried! They basically said a third season would only happen if the fanbase continued to show a lot of support, which… well, it felt like a hint that it might not be coming anytime soon. We, the fans, have been making it clear how much we want Season 3, and we are showing our support! But honestly, all we can do right now is keep checking the official channels and hope for an update. It’s a tough wait, but we’re still holding out hope!
