In the series “Solo Leveling,” it’s become common for characters to meet their end. Even the lead character, Sung Jin-Woo, perished in Season 1. The second season was no exception, with numerous deaths ranging from top-tier Japanese hunters to the standout character of the Jeju Island arc. As we move into Season 3, a heartrending death is predicted to stir emotions beyond measure, not only for Jin-Woo but also for the show’s devoted fans.
In the anime “Solo Leveling,” the death of Min Byung-Gu at the hands of the Ant King has been particularly poignant for viewers so far. His final moments were agonizing to witness, leaving many fans shocked and saddened by his untimely end. As the story progresses in the anime, it’s anticipated that another heartrending character death will occur in Season 3, which fans should prepare themselves for.
Go Gun-Hee Is Expected to Die in Solo Leveling Season 3
The End of an Era
The Solo Leveling anime is experiencing both an exhilarating climax and a challenging period. Following the finale, Jin-Woo advances to level 100 and gains a powerful new shadow, Beru. On the other hand, the series is also grappling with a somber phase as South Korea grieves over the losses of Min Byung-Gu and numerous hunters who gave their lives in an attempt to recapture Jeju Island from the mutated ants.
Following the demise of Byung-Gu, yet another highly ranked hunter from the world of Solo Leveling is destined to join him in the afterlife, as prophesied in the manhwa. If season 3 delves into the International Guild Conference storyline, it’s expected that a cherished character will meet their end, leaving fans heartbroken and desolate. Go Gun-Hee’s name may unfortunately appear on the Grim Reaper’s list at some point in time.
“I’ve always wanted to fight alongside young hunters like yourself.”—Go Gun-Hee to Sung Jin-Woo
In the second season of Solo Leveling, hints about Gun-Hee’s impending demise have been subtly introduced. It’s been disclosed that his health deterioration stems from a heart problem, which causes an abnormally fast pulse, as if racing towards its conclusion. The specific reason behind this condition isn’t entirely clear yet, but it appears to be age-related. Despite this, Gun-Hee continues to display remarkable strength as a hunter, defying the appearance of his advanced years.
How Will Go Gun-Hee Die?
Go Gun-Hee’s Killer Revealed

As an observer, I feel it’s crucial to clarify that the tragic incident occurred while Jin-Woo was abroad, attending a global guild gathering in America. Had Jin-Woo perceived the danger earlier, he could have acted swiftly to protect Chairman Go Gun-Hee. Regrettably, Gun-Hee’s time had already run out, despite the fact that his existence was precarious from the start.
It turns out that the person who killed Go Gun-Hee is none other than Sillad, also known as the Frost Monarch, a ruthless hunter who’s been targeting ships across the globe. As part of an insidious strategy to undermine the Rulers, Sillad pays a visit to the Korean Hunters Association headquarters with the intention of assassinating their chairman. Despite his best efforts, Go Gun-Hee won’t be able to stand up against Sillad for long and will likely find himself in a desperate struggle for survival.
“You’ve come for me, thank you very much.”—Go Gun-Hee to Sung Jin-Woo
In this scenario, though Jin-Woo has the chance to confront Sillad, he won’t manage to rescue Go Gun-Hee. He’ll also make a desperate effort to employ the Elixir of Life in an attempt to help the Chairman, but the Chairman will reject the treatment, causing great disappointment for Jin-Woo.
Will Go Gun-Hee Ever Return?
Go Gun-Hee’s Fate

In the final installment of “Solo Leveling” comic series, following Jin-Woo’s usage of the Cup of Reincarnation and time manipulation, Go Gun-Hee will reappear. It is anticipated that the anime might include a short sequence to demonstrate the chairman’s revised life, similar to other characters who have been resurrected. There’s also a possibility that he may make a brief appearance, possibly during the climactic arc involving the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, who may use Gun-Hee’s image to communicate with Jin-Woo.
“Please remain on the side of humans.”—Go Gun-Hee to Sung Jin-Woo
Currently, in the “Solo Leveling” anime, Gun-Hee continues to thrive and is in good health. Though he may no longer be actively engaged in battles, his past as a formidable fighter remains undiminished. As one of the Rulers’ vessels, Gun-Hee continues to stand out among hunters, admired by Sung Jin-Woo for his exceptional abilities.
