The world of Solo Leveling is filled with incredibly strong characters capable of destroying entire armies. While most people fear these powerful individuals, Sung Jinwoo consistently uses his abilities to help others. Everything changed for Jinwoo when he was chosen by a mysterious System, transforming him into someone new.
Jinwoo developed incredible powers, enabling him to battle dangerous monsters and protect his homeland. As he trained, he surpassed even the most powerful beings, becoming stronger than any Monarch or Ruler. While he mainly fights using his Shadows, he also possesses a wide range of other skills that make him a formidable opponent.
This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Can Improve In Seconds
Becomes Stronger In The Middle Of A Fight
- Can surpass high-ranked fighters in mere moments
Many underestimated Sung Jinwoo’s potential for growth, and that’s why they lost to him. Since becoming a Player, Jinwoo has consistently shown he can improve incredibly quickly. He might start a fight at a disadvantage, but he always finds a way to win by becoming stronger during the battle and exceeding his opponent’s abilities.
He improves so quickly that others’ experience doesn’t matter much. Take Kandiaru, for example – he’d been fighting for decades, but it didn’t help him against Sung Jinwoo, who easily defeated him after a short fight.
Ability To Alter Memories
Can Erase Anyone’s Memories
- Capable of adding new memories
Sung Jinwoo usually fights using his Shadows and hand-to-hand combat, but he also has other abilities. He can erase or change people’s memories, but he has to physically touch them to do so.
Sung Jinwoo’s ability allows him to avoid fights and escape dangerous situations. He can also use it to conceal who he is or even let others experience his memories.
Hypnosis
Make People Obey His Commands
- True potential unknown because of limited use
It’s often forgotten, but Jinwoo has the ability to hypnotize people. He can make someone perform a task for him, which can be incredibly useful for weakening enemies or disrupting organizations when used strategically.
Jinwoo hasn’t used this power much, likely because it feels a bit dishonest. Because of this, it’s hard to know exactly what his hypnosis can and can’t do.
Ruler’s Authority
Can Incapacitate His Opponents
- Used to stop high level fighters
Ruler’s Authority is a power that only Rulers and those they possess can use, granting them telekinetic abilities. Initially, Jinwoo didn’t have the full power, but a weaker form called Ruler’s Hands, which he got from a special stone. He upgraded this ability during his battle with Kandiaru.
The Ruler’s Authority lets him completely freeze anyone’s movement. He’s used it to immobilize the statues within the Cartenon Temple, and at its peak, it can even stop a Monarch. What’s particularly impressive is that using this ability doesn’t cost any mana, meaning Jinwoo can use it alongside his other powers without having to make a choice.
Regeneration
Can Recover From Most Injuries
- Can outlast his opponents
Solo Leveling is full of powerful and dangerous enemies, so even a strong fighter like Sung Jinwoo is bound to get hurt. He’s actually been injured quite a few times throughout his battles.
Despite their efforts, none of the attacks affect Jinwoo because he can quickly heal from any injury. While he’s incredibly resilient, this regeneration isn’t limitless – damage to his heart would be fatal.
Incredible Physical Traits
Is Blessed With Immense Speed And Strength
- Can overpower gigantic monsters
Sung Jinwoo is unique among Solo Leveling characters because he defeats enemies using only his incredible speed and strength, without needing weapons or special abilities. He typically wins fights by moving so fast that opponents can’t react, easily dodging attacks and breaking through their defenses. He often overwhelms them with quick strikes, leaving them completely defeated.
After getting past any defenses, Jinwoo uses his incredible strength to powerfully attack his opponents. His speed combined with his strength makes him almost unbeatable. A prime example of his power was during his fight with Beru in Solo Leveling Season 2, which he ultimately won.
Immunity To Poison
Cannot Be Hurt By Any Poison
- Complete poison immunity gives him a major advantage in fights
Poison is a highly dangerous weapon because it can harm people in many different ways. It might paralyze someone, making them unable to defend themselves, or it could damage the heart, potentially causing it to stop working.
Jinwoo doesn’t need to worry about poisons, as he’s completely immune. Any poison that enters his body is instantly identified and neutralized. This is particularly useful when battling magical creatures inside dungeons.
