It’s amazing how he’s built such a strong reputation for himself, especially considering how little known he was at first. Solo Leveling, which got an anime series in 2024, has been consistently great for the last couple of years, and I have a feeling that Solo Leveling Season 3 is going to be something truly special when it’s released. The series clearly has a lot of potential, and that means even bigger things are likely in store for Sung Jinwoo.

It’s no surprise that most of the positive attention towards Solo Leveling focuses on Sung Jinwoo, the main character. Fans adore everything about him, including his action scenes, his abilities, and the cool, detached vibe that sets him apart from everyone else in the story. It’s clear that Sung Jinwoo is a unique and compelling protagonist, but he’s recently lost the top spot in Japan to Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries. While not as widely popular with western audiences, Maomao has become a sensation in Japan, with The Apothecary Diaries consistently ranking among the best manga and anime, and the protagonist herself receiving a lot of appreciation.

I’ve been following anime for years, and while everyone appreciates Sung Jinwoo, I think most of us agree he’s not *the* best MC out there. He’s strong, sure, and definitely has charisma, but that’s kind of where it stops for me. Although Maomao is now considered by many fans to be stronger than Sung Jinwoo, this doesn’t diminish Jinwoo as a character. He remains a beloved figure, and that won’t change. Fans appreciate everything he brings to the story, and that connection will last.

If you’re an anime fan who loves thrilling fights, Solo Leveling is a must-watch, and Sung Jiwnoo is arguably the best main character out there. No one delivers action quite like Jinwoo, and it’s safe to say that Jinwoo perfectly embodies the overpowered protagonist trope that fans have been craving for years-perhaps even more so than Saitama.
