Some Gamers Can Play Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Early

Nintendo is letting some lucky fans play a demo version of the new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment at select stores. With the game—a prequel to Breath of the Wild and a spinoff of The Legend of Zelda series—launching soon, Nintendo is giving players a sneak peek. The game will feature over ten playable characters, including a recently revealed Korok named Calamo and the Mysterious Construct. This early access allows some fans to experience the action before the official release.

The latest Hyrule Warriors game is a key part of the story connecting to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. It focuses on Zelda’s journey after she’s sent back in time during the events of Tears of the Kingdom, finally showing players the details of the ‘Imprisoning War’ that’s been hinted at in both games. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment also adds Zonai devices – familiar from Tears of the Kingdom – to the usual Warriors gameplay. Playable demos are now available at select stores.

Nintendo of America is giving select Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart stores limited demos of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment before the game officially launches. While Nintendo hasn’t shared details on exactly what will be playable, fans can likely expect to try out characters like Zelda, Rauru, and potentially the Sages. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment comes out on November 6th.
