Schedule 1 players have been warned about malware in some of the game’s most popular mods.
According to a notice from TheGamer’s official Schedule 1 subreddit, labeled as an “URGENT PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT,” it has come to their attention that certain popular mods contain malware. They strongly recommend players to immediately uninstall these mods to avoid potential issues or complications.
Schedule 1 Mods That Were Found with Malware
The initial Schedule 1 Mod discovered alongside malware is called “Increased Stack Size Limit,” created by Froggyp1. The subreddit moderator has verified that the original creator has sold their account, and the new owner has introduced a version known to be a trojan. The owner has been banned, and all their malicious uploads have been deleted. Nevertheless, players are advised to thoroughly check their files for safety.
The upcoming Schedule 1 mod in discussion is named “Backpack Mod Reupload,” and it’s been verified as malicious by NexusMods. To ensure safety, players should delete the files and change their passwords. Here are two options for taking action: Initially, they can utilize reliable antivirus or antimalware software to scan each file separately for potential threats. Alternatively, they can make use of online virus scanning services.
