A passionate fan recently created a remarkably detailed version of Raccoon City within the game Pokemon Pokopia. The project, inspired by Resident Evil, quickly gained attention online and is just one example of the many impressive creations the Pokemon Pokopia community has shared.
Initial sales figures show that the new Pokemon game featuring Ditto, created by Omega Force and Game Freak, is a major success, selling over 2.2 million copies in its first four days. Resident Evil Requiem also had a strong start, with Capcom reporting 6 million copies sold in 17 days – about 5% of those on the new Switch 2 console. Inspired by both games, Japanese YouTuber Emoki impressively recreated the city of Raccoon City within the world of Pokemon Pokopia.
Pokopia Version of Raccoon City Includes Locations from Multiple Resident Evil Games
Emoki’s creation is based on the Raccoon City seen in Resident Evil Requiem, but expands on that, pulling in locations from Resident Evil 2 and 3 as well. The result is a detailed world featuring places like the subway, city center, the police station, and several hidden labs.

The game features Pokemon filling the role of zombies, similar to those in Resident Evil. The creator, Emoki, chose these Pokemon with a few things in mind. Sometimes they picked Pokemon that naturally live in cities, like Koffing, Grimer, Muk, Trubbish, and Garbodor, based on established Pokemon lore. Other times, they used Pokemon that look human-like, such as Machoke, to act as zombie stand-ins. There are also some unexpected choices, like Parasect, Snorlax, Tangela, and Ekans.
As a huge fan of both Resident Evil and Pokemon, I was really impressed with how they recreated Jack’s Bar – or J’s Bar, as some of us call it – from the Resident Evil Outbreak games! They didn’t just make a perfect copy, which I appreciated. They took some fun risks with the design, turning it into this awesome party spot with music and even indoor fireworks, all themed around the T-virus! It really captures the whole spirit of the project: everything looks exactly like it’s from Resident Evil, but with a playful Pokemon Pokopia twist. It’s like they took the familiar and made it even more fun!
As of April 2nd, a nearly 19-minute video showing the creation of Pokemon Pokopia had already received almost 120,000 views on YouTube. Viewers largely praised the creator’s creativity in the comments, though some playfully admitted they weren’t as imaginative. Despite this, the game’s popularity is likely due to its accessibility – you don’t need to be a master builder to have fun. Players can enjoy the main story and do just the basic building, and still experience memorable moments with unique Pokémon, interesting locations, and delightful interactions.
Even though Pokemon Pokopia was released less than a month ago, its community has already built an amazing range of things! Players have created everything from simple, cozy homes to huge, imposing structures, including houses built on cliffs, medieval-style buildings, hotels, and even bridges underwater. Recently, impressive builds like a detailed recreation of Palette Town, realistic villages and castles, Japanese-inspired cities, clock towers, hot springs, and island lighthouses have been gaining attention. Some players have even tackled ambitious recreations of famous landmarks, like the Taj Mahal, Big Ben, Disney Castle, Kirby’s house, and the Dream Castle from My Little Pony. With the game still widely discussed online as of early April 2026, we can expect even more incredible creations to appear in the coming weeks.
