Following the unveiling of a fresh trailer at the PlayStation State of Play event on Wednesday, details about the starting lineup for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds have surfaced online.
Initially, the lineup for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was briefly unveiled on Sonic Stadium, only to be taken down later. Upon its release, the game is expected to feature a total of 23 characters drawn from the series’ rich past, such as:
- Sonic
- Knuckles
- Tails
- Shadow
- Amy
- Eggman/Robotnik
- Metal Sonic
- Jet
- Wave
- Storm
- Rouge
- E-123 Omega
- Vector
- Charmy
- Espio
- Blaze
- Silver
- Cream
- Zavok
- Zazz
- Big
- Egg Pawn
- Sage
In the trailer that’s been released, almost all of the racers are visible. However, the 23 competitors aren’t the only ones you can play with in the game. As suggested by the game’s website (though it may have been prematurely published), Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds plans to introduce many more drivers from various Sega franchises into the game.
24 primary events, known as “main tracks,” will feature 15 interconnected areas called CrossWorlds. To navigate these CrossWorlds, players can select from a variety of 45 exclusive vehicles. Additionally, there are 23 distinct power-ups at your disposal to boost your chances of victory during the races.
The launch date for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is yet to be revealed, however, upon its release, players can expect to find the game on platforms such as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers (PC).
A closed network test is currently scheduled for February 21-23.
