In Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, we’ve recently caught a glimpse of several new characters (other than Sonic the Hedgehog).
At Summer Game Fest, Sega unveiled a brand-new trailer for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, offering a glimpse into the game’s gameplay, some stunning pre-made cutscenes, and a peek at several characters from different franchises that will appear in the game.
Almost all of the characters unveiled are set to appear in the game’s main lineup when it launches, with only one character being offered through the game’s season pass.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will be launching on September 25.
Miku, Like A Dragon, Persona, And… Minecraft?

In the trailer, you’ll see some characters that overlap, including Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from Like A Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5. Each of these characters has a distinct vehicle, whether it’s a car or an Extreme Gear, and they are all part of the main cast in the game, which now boasts more than 23 unique characters as per the game’s official website.
In the announcement, it was disclosed that Minecraft’s character, Steve, will be among six new characters included in the season pass. Additionally, he will have his own stage designed, featuring areas based on the overworld, the Nether, and the End. This ties in with the selection of stages themed after Sonic, providing a diverse gaming experience.
As a gamer, I’m really stoked to see some familiar faces from Sega joining the roster! It gives me a good feeling that there might be even more iconic characters coming our way, just like those who raced alongside Sonic in previous games. But what truly gets my adrenaline pumping is the rumor mill about potential third-party guests. If these whispers are true, I can hardly wait to see who’ll join the fun!
In Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Sega hinted at the possibility of additional third-party characters making an appearance.
This new disclosure raises questions about the authenticity of the leaks we had a while back, or at least suggests that the strategies might have been altered since the dates of those leaks, given that they were several months outdated.
According to the source, it’s been implied that there won’t be a fusion between Persona and Like A Dragon. However, collaborations with Minecraft and Hatsune Miku have been planned, albeit without any visual representations like artwork, models, or video clips at this time. It is rumored that Miku will join the game at a later date.
Meanwhile, the leaked material containing SpongeBob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender seems to have vanished without a trace.
