In a recent interview, Sony Group openly expressed their plans to take over Kadokawa Group. The staff members of FromSoftware, who are the owners, appear to be enthusiastic about this potential acquisition.
Sony Confirms Interest in Acquiring FromSoftware Parent Company
In their chat with Yahoo Japan through IGN, a Sony representative acknowledged their previous statements and politely asked for no more speculation, which implies that Sony’s potential acquisition of the Kadokawa Group has been officially confirmed by both parties.
Kadokawa Employees Are Happy about Sony Acquisition
During the interview, a long-time Kadokawa employee shared their thoughts, mentioning that “other staff members are pleased about Sony’s takeover” because they have grown frustrated with the leadership of President Natsuno. The veteran employee further stated that they hoped Sony would terminate President Natsuno’s employment once they acquired the company.
In addition, they demonstrated an instance where the current government failed to conduct a press conference after sensitive data was breached in a cyber attack earlier this year.
