Sony’s Immersive Concept Showcases New Ways to Experience The Last of Us

At CES 2025, Sony demonstrated innovative methods for exploring the universe of The Last of Us as part of their Future Interactive Entertainment Vision.

On Sony’s main YouTube channel, they shared a glimpse of an innovative project they’ve been developing alongside Naughty Dog. By employing Location-Based Technologies, they have constructed an expansive array of Sony Crystal LED panels that offer immersive audio, tactile feedback, scent, and ambiance effects. This setup simulates various scenes from the game, enabling players to experience the world of The Last of Us as if they were truly inhabiting it.

Sony’s video highlights various gamers testing out the intense The Last of Us gameplay. In the footage, players are seen gripping authentic gun replicas as they traverse diverse stages from the title. They delve into ominous and unsettling settings, utilize flashlights and assorted gadgets, and crucially, ward off swarms of the undead. The suspense of a zombie lurking nearby will not feel more authentic than this.

Sony’s innovative The Last of Us concept endeavors to spread the notion of Stories in All Spaces. By weaving tales and harnessing technology, the company aspires to pioneer within novel platforms, providing players with extraordinary, one-of-a-kind adventures.
