As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly waiting for updates on the skate project by Full Circle Studios. However, the recent developer blog has shed some light on a detail that might not sit well with fellow gamers like me. It seems there could be delays or changes in the game’s release due to the ongoing testing phase, which is currently an invite-only program.

skate Will Require A Live Connection Always Since It’s aA Living, Breathing Multiplayer Sandbox Says The Devs
In the Q&A, one of the questions asked whether skate will have an offline mode.
The game and its city setting are continuously growing and changing, forming a dynamic multiplayer skateboarding environment that’s always connected online. You can expect changes like modifications to the city over time, as well as live events and activities within the game. To achieve our vision of a living skateboarding universe, the game must remain online at all times. This shouldn’t come as a shock if you’ve been part of our playtesting process.
As a gamer eagerly waiting for the Insider Playtest, I’ve been keeping tabs on updates. The developers have shared that they’ve already invited over 200,000 players into the playtest so far. They mentioned they’re planning to send out another big wave of invites in July, which should be for both console and PC platforms.
Some of the data the dev team shared as part of the highlights of the Insider Playtest:
- More than 16 million kickflips*
- More than 4.8 million 50-50 Grinds landed – nothin’ but bolts!
- The Longest Grind (so far) – more than 200 meters! That’s about 15 school buses!
- More than 40 million Total Wipeouts – Ouch!
- More than 6.5 million Challenges completed
For enthusiasts of skating, there’s some positive updates: Full Circle has confirmed that they plan to release their game in Early Access this year.
The team behind the project excitedly confirms that they are moving forward with the release of their skateboarding game in Early Access by the end of this year. Their aim is to create a dynamic and continuously expanding skateboarding environment known as San Vansterdam, which will evolve based on player feedback. The Early Access launch signifies the beginning of this journey, with additional features, enhancements, and content being added continually over time.
The exact release date isn’t known yet, as the game hasn’t held an open beta test so far. Therefore, you shouldn’t anticipate its launch happening anytime in the near future.
The upcoming title from Full Circle, titled “Full Circle’s Skate,” marks the next installment in Electronic Arts’ skateboarding simulation series. This new edition is being crafted specifically for console and PC platforms as a free-to-play experience.
