Enotria: The Last Song, a Soulslike game that debuted digitally towards the end of 2024, will be available physically this coming spring. The launch of Enotria: The Last Song was shrouded in controversy due to issues Jayamma Games faced with getting the game approved and certified for release on Xbox Series X and S. As a result, the Xbox version of Enotria experienced a three-month delay, pushing its release back to December. However, the game launched on schedule for PS5 and PC in September.

2024 saw a plethora of Soulslike games hitting the market, among them was “Enotria: The Last Song”, which I had the pleasure of playing. While it garnered positive feedback for its immersive Italian folklore-infused setting, the game’s combat and exploration aspects were met with some criticism. With a crowded release calendar that year, especially in September, Enotria might have slipped under the radar for many gamers. Adding to this was the three-month delay on Xbox, which meant it arrived just two days after the blockbuster “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” stormed onto Game Pass. As a fan, I found myself drawn more towards the rich cultural tapestry of Enotria, but I do hope future updates address the concerns raised about its gameplay mechanics.

Approximately five months following its debut, “Enotria: The Last Song” has unveiled launch dates for its upcoming physical release. On various social media platforms, “Enotria” disclosed that its physical versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S will be released on March 21 in Asia, with a global release set for April 10. Notably, the Deluxe Edition of the game will only be available physically for PlayStation 5 users, while Xbox players can only expect the standard version.

With the ongoing shift away from traditional media, it’s becoming increasingly common for certain mid-tier (AA) and high-tier (AAA) video games to debut without physical versions initially, only to release them later on. Games such as Alan Wake 2, the enhanced remaster of Dead Rising, and the recent remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 are examples of this trend. It remains unclear whether Jayamma Games originally intended to release a physical version of Enotria, or if they decided to do so in response to fan demand for a tangible copy.

As a die-hard Souls fan eagerly anticipating the physical version of “Enotria: The Last Song”, I can hardly contain my excitement since we’re nearly down to just two months! When it comes to Enotria itself, one fellow gamer posed an intriguing question under its Twitter post about a possible PlayStation 5 Pro upgrade. In response, Jayamma, the game’s creator, mentioned that “there are no plans for it at the moment.” However, I can only hope that Jayamma will reveal more details about a potential PS5 Pro enhancement as we inch closer to the physical release of Enotria.
