The team behind South of Midnight has announced the game is now planned to launch on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 in Spring 2026.
South of Midnight, the action-adventure game from Compulsion Games, originally launched on Xbox Series X/S and PC in April 2025. Now, it’s expanding to new platforms – PlayStation 5 and Nintendo’s Switch 2 – after what appears to have been a temporary exclusivity agreement.
South of Midnight Arriving for PS5 and Switch 2 in Spring 2026
Just before The Game Awards 2025, Compulsion Games announced on X (formerly Twitter) that South of Midnight will be released on both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. While a specific date hasn’t been revealed, the game is currently scheduled to launch in Spring 2026.
South of Midnight puts you in the shoes of Hazel, a Weaver with the power to heal broken connections and spirits through magic. Set in a dark and imaginative world inspired by Southern folklore, the game follows Hazel as she fights terrifying creatures and discovers hidden truths about her family’s past.
In the game, Hazel must not only save her mother and hometown, but also use a special, inherited power to heal both creatures and the painful experiences that haunt them. Players will explore a richly detailed version of the American South, specifically the crumbling county of Prospero and the stories of those who live there.
