Space Marine 2 Crossplay Details Announced

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about crossplay in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has me genuinely excited! The fact that I can jump into the action on any platform without worrying about being left out is simply music to my ears.

A week prior to its release, information about crossplay features in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been disclosed.

On Thursday, Saber Interactive shared their August community update, offering insights into the functioning of crossplay for Space Marine 2.

Starting its debut, Space Marine 2 will offer “comprehensive cross-platform compatibility” among PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store (EGS), enabling players on different systems to compete or cooperate together.

“You will be able to play the Campaign and PvE modes without any restriction,” the developers say.

In the multiplayer battle mode known as Eternal War, Saber Interactive explains that they need to divide certain aspects to ensure a level playing field and maintain balance.

They mentioned that crossplay is planned to divide into two groups: one for PC gamers, combining both Steam and Epic Games Store users; the other for console players, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners.

In the end, users can choose to turn off crossplay completely if they prefer playing exclusively with individuals using the same platform.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 releases on September 6.
