As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the success of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero on Steam is nothing short of phenomenal! I remember playing Dragon Ball games since their humble beginnings and never have I seen such an overwhelming player base assemble for a game in this series. The all-time peak of over 90,000 players is simply mind-blowing, especially considering it’s only the early access version!
Currently, Steam Early Access is hosting Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, shattering player record peaks for all other Dragon Ball games available on the platform. Presently, this game has reached an unprecedented all-time peak concurrent player count of 91,005 as per SteamDB, which is over two times higher than the next closest competitor.
Compared to other Dragon Ball games available on Steam, none have ever come close to the all-time peak of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. Dragon Ball Fighter Z follows as the game with the next highest peak, which was approximately 44,303 players about 6.8 years ago. In comparison, games such as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 peaked at 25,852 and 19,416 concurrent players respectively.
Reaching over 90,000 players on Steam for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is truly impressive, given that its current player base comes exclusively from those who bought the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions. As the game becomes available for Standard Edition owners, a significant number of new players are expected to join the game.
However, we do not know how the game compares to the old Budokai Tenkaichi titles, as they were never released on Steam. But, we do know that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has also beaten the likes of Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6.
