As a dedicated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fan, I’m thrilled to share that Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software have rolled out another update for the PC version! This is the sixth major update since its launch earlier this year, with the latest patch bringing the game up to version 1.318.1.0. You can grab it right now on Steam and the Epic Games Store, where you’ll find a host of bug fixes and stability improvements designed to enhance your gaming experience even further.
Following its debut on the PlayStation 5 in October 2023, Insomniac Games collaborated again with Nixxes Software to create a PC version of the highly anticipated sequel. Regrettably, despite a warm welcome upon its console premiere, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received mixed feedback when it was launched on PC. The game became available on Steam and the Epic Games Store in January, but several performance problems left players dissatisfied with the port. Numerous users reported frequent crashes every 10 minutes, with some describing the overall gaming experience as “bumpy.” Fortunately, the developers have consistently provided updates to tackle these issues.
In the past few weeks, updates for the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have been rolling out. Despite this, it has climbed its way to a “mostly positive” rating on Steam. However, players continue to report issues, prompting Insomniac and Nixxes to release another update for download. According to the official patch notes (available further down in this article), Update 1.318.1.0 addresses various bugs and improves stability. Players will be happy to learn that the studios have rectified frame generation issues, fixed a high frame-related bug, enhanced NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction, among other things.
A fresh update for the game “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” was unveiled merely seven days ago. This latest version boasts a variety of enhancements focused on performance optimization, stability improvements, and bug resolutions. Patch 5 specifically addresses performance issues in scenes involving Venom and Symbiotes and introduces several advancements related to raytracing. Additionally, there have been various other modifications such as rectifying visual bugs and optimizing aspects like reflections, shadows, and textures.
Since the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it has faced issues like glitches and performance bugs, but fans are appreciative that the two studios have been dedicated to enhancing the game’s performance on this platform. A Twitter user commented on the updates by saying, “6 patches in a month. I admire their determination,” while another labeled it as “a model for other developers.” All the recent bug fixes and improvements can be found in the official patch notes provided below.
