Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Voice Actor Reveals Shocking Delay Update: Fans Left Frustrated!

Despite the immense popularity and anticipation surrounding “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and its sequel “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, as well as expectations for “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse“, it seems that the third film in the trilogy may not be released to cinemas anytime soon. This long wait, which has been evident for a while, is likely to leave some fans of the movie series feeling quite frustrated.

Initially, Sony Pictures launched the first chapter of their highly successful saga in 2018. Five years later came “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” leaving viewers on a suspenseful cliffhanger. Although initial plans aimed to wrap up the story sooner, multiple setbacks occurred. The most recent update, however, isn’t technically a delay. Instead, an interview with one of the key voice actors for “Beyond the Spider-Verse” suggests that the next film is still quite some distance away.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Star Not Recording His Lines Yet

Jharrel Jerome, the actor who lends his voice to Miles Morales in an alternate reality setting within Across the Spider-Verse, recently had a chat with Decider about his upcoming live-action project, Unstoppable. During their conversation, which primarily focused on that movie, he was asked towards the end if he had begun recording voiceovers for the new film. He replied in the negative, expressing a wish to do so, but explained that as of now, production hasn’t started yet and there are still many aspects being worked out, but he’s optimistic about the outcome.

It seems that the situation regarding Jerome’s work on the third film in the trilogy hasn’t progressed since earlier this winter. Back then, he mentioned that he hadn’t begun working on it and was unsure of when he would. A month later, it appears that the production on Beyond the Spider-Verse is still halted for now.

The recent update might not bring surprising developments, but it does imply that we could have a similar lengthy gap before the third installment of this specific Spider-Man series. Given that when the initial film wrapped up, there was no assurance it would be part of a larger saga, this prolonged wait is particularly disappointing. The sequel, “Across the Spider-Verse,” was designed with that plot twist in mind and knowing it would form part of the conclusion.

Given the current pace, it appears that “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” might not premiere until as early as 2026, possibly towards the end of the year. A 2027 release date seems more probable, assuming production and voiceover work begins soon. If the movie is delayed to 2028, the time gap between the first, second, and third films would be consistent. However, it’s unlikely that this was the intended schedule when everything was initially planned out.
