Hazelight Studios recently unveiled a fresh trailer for their forthcoming game titled “Split Fiction”. The video spotlights the disorderly cooperative gameplay that “Split Fiction” promises and offers sneak peeks into numerous stages, one of which is located in a bustling cyberpunk metropolis.

At The Game Awards in late December 2024, the highly anticipated action-adventure game titled Split Fiction was officially unveiled. This will be the third title from Hazelight Studios, renowned for their award-winning games A Way Out and It Takes Two. Similar to its predecessors, Split Fiction is designed as a cooperative experience for two players.

6 weeks after its initial reveal, the game “Split Fiction” unveiled a fresh gameplay trailer on January 27th, which was uploaded to Hazelight’s YouTube channel. This video offers a glimpse into certain aspects of the game that had already been confirmed, such as its narrative focusing on characters Mio and Zoe, who find themselves trapped within their own fictional realms. In this specific instance, they are depicted getting stuck in one of Mio’s sci-fi tales, set within an expansive cyberpunk metropolis.

Split Fiction Will Offer Immense Gameplay Variety

In the two-minute video, Josef Fares, director of Split Fiction, discusses the team’s passion for diverse gameplay experiences at Hazelight Studios. Their goal is to ensure players remain captivated by presenting a dynamic blend of settings, characters, and game mechanics in their upcoming title. The trailer showcases an array of activities, including Mio and Zoe scaling walls, motorbike racing, traversing space, swinging with grappling hooks, battling a colossal robotic adversary, diving, water-skiing, conversing with a fairy, riding a desert beast similar to Dune, and assuming different magical forms, to name a few.

New Split Fiction Trailer Shows How Side Quests Will Work

The January 27 trailer additionally provides a glimpse at the side missions for Split Fiction, which developer Hazelight labels as “tales.” These optional elements are distinct from the primary game and can be entered through portals to other dimensions. Successfully completing these side tales offers insight into Zoe and Mio’s history and their present situation. Similar to the main narrative, the side missions will capitalize on Split Fiction’s multi-dimensional premise to offer diverse gameplay, frequently switching between platforming, fighting, exploration, and problem-solving.

The game titled “Split Fiction” is set to debut on March 6, available for purchase both digitally and physically. It will be playable on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at a price point of $49.99.
