Split Fiction gets a new trailer showing off side stories and co-op gameplay

With the March launch of Split Fiction fast approaching, it appears a fresh trailer for the game is on its way, offering glimpses into the side stories and cooperative aspects.

In the trailer, Josef Fares from Hazelight Studios demonstrates additional instances of the innovative cooperative situations and diverse gameplay options that the studio is recognized for. The video additionally previews Side Stories: these are optional side missions found within the main story levels which further alter the mechanics, as characters Mio and Zoe can be seen riding sandfish and snowboarding down a mountain amidst a future battlefield.

Check out the trailer, below:

In this scenario, you and your collaborator assume the roles of Mio and Zoe, two writers who find themselves trapped in a simulation based on their individual storylines. While seeking a lucrative contract with Rader Publishing’s enigmatic headquarters, an unforeseen incident causes Mio and Zoe to be merged into the same shared simulation. Consequently, they are repeatedly transported between the realms of their respective science fiction and fantasy narratives. Simultaneously, this suspicious publishing house attempts to pilfer all their creative ideas.

On the official blog, we get some info about the side-stories:

If you’ve experienced A Way Out or It Takes Two, you’re familiar with Hazelight Studios’ expertise in creating diverse cooperative gameplay. Beyond the captivating sci-fi and fantasy elements in their main story titled Split Fiction, you’ll stumble upon enigmatic portals that seem out of place, offering an opportunity to delve into entirely new and distinct worlds and locations. These optional explorations offer a refreshing change from the main narrative.

These are alternate tales! Alternate tales are unusual events that arise due to Mio and Zoe being trapped within the same virtual world. These portals represent the simulation’s attempts to snatch incomplete narratives and concepts that Mio and Zoe penned during their youth, resulting in some incredibly strange, captivating, and chaotic scenarios.
