The director of the Split Fiction game has confirmed they’ve received a first draft of the script for the upcoming adaptation.
A movie based on Split Fiction was announced in April 2025, just two months after the game came out. The film boasts a talented cast and crew, including Sydney Sweeney in a leading role and the writers of Deadpool & Wolverine, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, handling the screenplay.
Split Fiction Director Has Met Sydney Sweeney
A recent report from Dexerto indicates that the initial script for the Split Fiction movie has been sent to the game’s director. This information comes from a video posted on Instagram by Moviezine, where Josef Fares said he received the “first version” of the script. However, Fares is waiting to fully confirm it, noting that there’s often a lot of discussion without real progress in Hollywood. He also mentioned speaking with the Euphoria star involved, and she “seems pretty chill” and excited about the project.
Split Fiction is a cooperative game developed by Hazelight Studios, the team behind It Takes Two. The story follows two writers – one who creates fantasy worlds and the other who focuses on science fiction – who find themselves stuck inside each other’s stories. They’ve been pulled into a device that’s stealing their ideas, and the game combines sci-fi and fantasy elements with different abilities and challenges to create a fresh and interesting experience.
