Following the launch of Splitgate 2 in June, which struggled due to questionable comments and actions taken by the 1047 Games leadership, the game has been returned to its beta phase. The eager fans are now patiently anticipating a fresh release, but a specific date remains undetermined.
Splitgate 2 Didn’t Make FPS Great Again
The decline of Splitgate 2 started when 1047 Games CEO, Ian Proulx, made some contentious remarks about their title during Summer Game Fest. His hat bearing the slogan ‘Make FPS Great Again’ ignited a response from gamers across the globe.
After that, the pricing and design decisions for microtransactions also influenced the debut of Splitgate 2, and when the developers stopped working on the game, its player base significantly declined.
In a post on social media, the 1047 Games team was caught begging fans to still have faith:
give us one more chance at our relaunch 🙏

The ‘one more chance’ comment was followed up with a similar sentiment:
Totally understand we’ve disappointed. Hope we’ll be able to earn your trust back!

It’s doubtful that Splitgate 2 will create a significant impact upon its return, as the initial release left a lasting impression on many players. Despite offering unique features, the memories of this year’s launch problems may prevent gamers from giving it another chance.
