Splitgate 2 Releases Big New Update for July 2025

1047 Games has rolled out a fresh update for Splitgate 2 in July 2025, with the significant patch 1.2 introducing Ranked Arena, Weapon Mastery Skins, and many other exciting features. Launched at the start of June, Splitgate 2 is a free-to-play first-person shooter that follows up on the original game from 2019. Players are divided into three factions – Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask – and employ the game’s portals to move around the map and attack opponents.

Since its beta, Splitgate 2 has experienced significant growth in its player base, largely thanks to its success on consoles and the appeal of its fast-paced combat. However, it faced a wave of criticism over pricey microtransactions recently. In response to this feedback, the game’s in-game costs were reduced drastically.>

1047 has rolled out the largest update ever for Splitgate 2 in version 1.2. One of the key highlights from this new content is the introduction of Ranked Area, but players must first accumulate 100,000 XP to access it. The update introduces a more thrilling and high-stakes variation of Splitball, Firecracker, and Hotzone, as well as new Weapon Master Challenges that can unlock three tiers of weapon skins, adding even more luster to the already impressive roster of weapons like the Goliath, Trailblazer, and Blitz. Additionally, this patch introduces the Season 1 Chapter 2 Battle Pass, filled with extra cosmetics such as character and weapon skins, emotes, player card banners, and much more.

Beyond providing beginner advice and clever tactics within the Splitgate 2 community, fans have praised the latest update as a substantial improvement, dubbing it as an “indication of promising developments.” Meanwhile, numerous players suggested enhancing the game by incorporating in-game statistics, enabling players to monitor their headshots, medals, and other achievements.

The version 1.2 release is included in the earlier unveiled plan for Splitgate 2 content, which indicated an abundance of content for gamers this year. As anticipated by the developers, they have been consistently delivering monthly map releases, new game modes, weekly playlist updates, and more during Summer 2025. However, there’s much more to come beyond these offerings. New weapons, maps, game modes, skins, and events are yet to be disclosed, and the developers hinted at even more surprises in store for the year ahead as well.
