The creators of Splitgate 2 have revealed the beta testing phase will conclude on December 4, 2025, with the full game launching shortly after that.
Splitgate 2’s developers announced earlier this year they were essentially restarting development with a new beta phase to overhaul key parts of the game. Now, after extensive retesting, they feel confident enough to release it again.
Splitgate 2 Beta Ends on December 4
Splitgate 2’s beta period will end on December 4th. This means the current season, Battle Passes, and ranked progress will all reset. On that same day, the game’s servers will be taken offline to get ready for the official launch later in December. A final beta playlist is now available, having started on November 22nd.
The last Beta test for Splitgate 2 includes a new map called Karman Station, a powerful new weapon, and several party game modes. Karman Station is a special map – it was the very first one created by the Splitgate team, and it’s been updated to work well with the current gameplay. Players can also enjoy the return of the Rail Gun, and a ‘Party Mix’ playlist with refreshed versions of popular modes like Team SWAT, Team Fiesta, and Shotty Snipers, with even more modes planned for the future.
How Has Going Back to Beta Changed Splitgate 2?
The developers explained that feedback from the beta test led to major changes, essentially rebuilding the game to focus on what made Splitgate unique: its portals, fast movement, and satisfying gunfights. They removed the Factions system and reworked abilities into temporary power-ups. Popular game modes like King of the Hill, Domination, Team Deathmatch, and Classic Arena have also been added.
The game has been significantly updated with new maps and weapons, plus improvements to the menus and overall gameplay, all based on what players told us. We’ve also added new features like portal overloading and EMPs that change how you take control of areas. Combat is now clearer thanks to streamlined equipment, the controller feels more responsive, and we’ve squashed many bugs and improved performance.
Splitgate 2’s developers are asking for another opportunity to relaunch the game. To do so, 1047 Games recently had to lay off some employees and are returning to a beta testing phase.
