This article contains spoilers for Wistoria: Wand and Sword.
The spring 2026 anime season will see the return of Wistoria: Wand and Sword. The long-awaited second season of this fantasy anime continues the story after a dangerous event called the All-Student Praxis, which left Will Serfort and other students at Regarden Magical Academy seriously injured.
The latest trailers suggest that Season 2 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword will be full of action, with Will Serfort and his friends battling monsters on the surface instead of in dungeons. With final exams happening at the same time, this season is incredibly important for Will’s hopes of getting closer to Elfie, the girl he loves.
Will Serfort Still Aims to Reach Elfie in Wistoria Season 2
Will Serfort Takes the Graduation Exams
In the magical world of Wistoria, Will Serfort is known as “No-Talent” because he can’t use magic. While his childhood friend, Elfie, is a magical genius and the youngest Magia Vander ever, Will simply doesn’t have an aptitude for it. However, Will isn’t helpless – he’s incredibly skilled with swords and physical feats, which is unusual in this world.
I’m totally hooked on Wistoria! From the first season, it’s become crystal clear what drives Will Serfort: he’s determined to reach Elfie and keep the promise he made to her, no matter the obstacles. He dreams of a simple life with her – watching sunrises and sunsets together, fighting alongside her as her knight, and just being by her side through everything, like they did when they were kids. But it’s going to be a long journey, because Will still has a lot to prove before he can make that happen!

By the end of the first season, Will Serfort had earned the respect of the entire school, even its most talented students like Sion, Julius, Lianna, and Wignall. After the incident at the All-Student Praxis, Will needs to excel on his final exams to move closer to achieving his dream. However, it’s a big question whether someone without magical abilities can actually succeed.

Will Serfort Still Wants To Become a Magia Vander
Will Serfort Meets Finn
I’ve learned that the Magia Vanders are Wistoria’s most powerful magic users, and Elfie is among them. They have a crucial job too – keeping the peace and maintaining the magical barrier that acts as Wistoria’s sky. There’s a young man named Will Serfort who desperately wants to join their ranks, but he can’t use magic, which seems like an insurmountable obstacle. Even his professor, Edward, had his doubts. But Will surprised everyone by proving his worth through sheer physical ability, earning his place at the academy.
Will Serfort is a bit like the powerful, non-magical fighters from other stories – similar to Toji Fushiguro or Maki Zenin. While other characters rely on spells, Will excels in physical combat. He uses his sword with incredible strength and skill to defeat enemies that magic alone can’t overcome.
Will Serfort recently encountered Finn, a young man associated with the King of Magia Vanders. Finn seems impressed with Will, particularly after witnessing his extraordinary power during the fight with the Grand Duke. Will is unique because he skillfully combines magic and swordsmanship, creating a revolutionary and unprecedented fighting style.
