As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt and countless hours spent navigating the treacherous wastelands of various post-apocalyptic games, I can confidently say that STALKER 2 is a breath of fresh air. The gritty combat and hardship it provides are reminiscent of classic titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Following a lengthy wait, during which it became one of Steam’s highly anticipated games, Stalker 2 has finally arrived, offering intense battles and struggles exclusively available within the confines of The Zone.
From the very beginning, you find yourself thrust into a sequence of challenges where you’re in a tight spot. Once you complete the introduction, you’ll be given an opportunity to embark on a mission that will lay a solid foundation for upcoming confrontations.
One of your early side quests is called “Dangerous Visitors,” where you’ll find yourself venturing a short distance along the road to save Gloomy, who has been taken captive.
As a fellow enthusiast, let me share a tip: Navigating the initial stages might seem tough, but trust us, we’ve got you covered! We can help you secure a Detonator and essential supplies en route to Zalissya.
How To Start The Quest
To kick off your journey, make your way up the road which leads away from where you awoke following your passage through the Anomaly field.
Down the street lies a residence, inhabited by unsavory characters who’ve taken someone hostage and are relentlessly firing shots at it. While it might be tempting to stealthily move past, if you’re aiming to hone your combat skills in STALKER 2, that wouldn’t be the wisest choice.
To handle the situation effectively, try to eliminate the adversaries positioned close to the front entrance. For optimal results, seek a protected spot and fire from a moderate distance. If that’s not possible, consider moving stealthily along the side of the house and firing quick shots from behind cover.
After defeating all your adversaries, make your way indoors for a chat with Zhorik. He’ll assign you a mission involving rescuing Gloomy.
How to Rescue Gloomy
Gloomy can be found at the Boiler House, which is just a little further up the road from the house where you find Zhorik.
To make sure you’re well-equipped with ammunition and health supplies before moving forward, don’t forget to search the safe located at the back of the house. Additionally, scavenge the bodies of defeated enemies for the possibility of finding a rifle when entering the Boiler Room.
If you haven’t realized yet, when you come across defeated opponents, you can discharge their weapons, earning yourself additional ammunition without the need for manual collection. Go ahead and give it a spin!
Upon reaching the Boiler Room, there are several choices available, however, I discovered that the most effective route was to circle the building from its left side and gain entry through the gap in the wall nearest to the cave hidden at the back of the structure.
This enables you to select them from within the structure, offering a small trench for seeking shelter whenever necessary.
Another possible approach is to bypass the building from its side and ascend a ladder to the rooftop. From there, you can eliminate any outdoor adversaries first. Afterward, you can look through the skylight and neutralize any remaining opponents inside.
In this environment, the secret to staying alive lies in a cautious, systematic approach combined with adequate concealment. As long as you avoid exposing yourself openly and tempting them to shoot you, you can expect to depart unscathed and secure.
Rewards For Completing Dangerous Visitors
When you have killed all the enemies, you can head inside and talk to Gloomy on the second floor.
He’ll reward the player with a Detector, which makes getting through the cave ahead a lot easier.
As you approach the next cavern, there’s a potential Acid Trap you should watch out for. Make sure to have your Detector ready as you proceed.
Additionally, you’ll also have the opportunity to seize Zhorik’s stockpile of emergency supplies, containing various items crucial for survival that will help ease the initial phases of the game.
This stash is found on the second floor near the shelves with food and ammo. It’s not much, but it should be enough to get you to Zalyssia in one piece.
