STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl – A Sign of Hope Guide

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl - A Sign of Hope Guide

As a gamer with countless hours spent traversing the irradiated wastelands of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, I can confidently say that the A Sign of Hope mission in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is one of the most emotionally charged missions I’ve ever encountered. The tension between hope and despair, life and death, is palpable as you navigate the treacherous rooftops of the Noon base, all while dodging the relentless zombie hordes that stalk the area.

A Beacon of Optimism represents one of the most emotionally stirring quests that players will encounter as they explore Wild Island, specifically in the Swamp region of STALKER 2. During their journey, they will be tasked with approaching Professor Lodoschka, who appears unduly anxious about a zombie infestation. He will subsequently instruct them to re-energize the Transmission Antenna atop the Noon base and eliminate a highly perilous zombie in the process.

In case players are puzzled about how to get to this specific location as there seems to be no obvious markers pointing the way to the antenna, here’s a comprehensive guide to help them finish this mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

How To Climb To The Roof In STALKER 2 A Sign Of Hope

There are two access points to the Roof Area, one lies straight from Prof. Lodochka’s Bunker in an “L” shape route. Just go straight from the bunker door and then turn left near the sidewalks of the lower rooftop, go beyond the anomaly, and look for a broken stairwalk. Then follow the route until reaching the Antena and the area where the Zombie is.

Another possibility is scaling the building from a sideway approach. Essentially, this means a slightly different path where instead of proceeding directly, players must first scale up through the hangar’s entrance before continuing along the earlier described route to reach the rooftop section.

How To Complete A Sign of Hope In STALKER 2

Prof. Lodoschka has assigned you a task: You need to activate the Roof Top Emission Antenna. To reach it, you’ll have to navigate through a minor jump challenge and scale some steps. Here are the steps to finish the mission:

  1. Talk to Prof. Lodoschka and claim the mission.
  2. Exit the bunker and walk straight until hitting the building, then turn left and face the anomaly area on the first roof.
  3. Search for a broken stair, then climb the first section.
  4. Enter the door and cross the pipelines into another door that leads to some stairs.
  5. Climb the stairs, look to the left, and follow the pipe until reaching the other section of the catwalk that has been broken.
  6. Continue to the left crossing the makeshift stairs.
  7. Reach the antenna area and climb the three stairs.
  8. Check the zombie on the right side and jump to the rooftop area.
  9. Avoid the zombie or kill him.
  10. Climb the stairs to the antenna area.
  11. Look for the fusebox and hit the switch.
  12. Return to Prof. Lodoschka for the reward, and if the Zombie is still alive, claim an extra reward from Khors.

Should You Kill The Zombie On The Roof Or Let Him Live?

Should players choose to heed Professor Lodoschka’s wisdom and comply with his instructions, they’ll receive 3500 Coupons as a reward. Rest assured, Khors won’t hold a grudge; he’ll listen to reason when players engage with him again in his shop.

If players choose to heed Khors’ advice and maintain optimism about the Zombie’s recovery, Professor Lodoschka won’t hold it against them and will still bestow 3500 coupons upon them. He may hint that they too have contracted the same illness as the Zombie, but this is just dialogue from an NPC character. Conversely, if Khors is happy to learn that we spared his friend’s life, he will grant us an additional 2500 coupons, which is quite generous.

In other words, if players are prepared to face the potential danger of being attacked by a zombie, they should opt for the second option. This individual will remain on the roof for an extended period, and it’s uncertain whether he’ll recover or not. However, the key advantage is the double reward without any additional penalties.
