Stalker 2: How to Beat the Poltergeists (Both Electric & Fire Variants)

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating through the treacherous landscapes of post-apocalyptic worlds, I can confidently say that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has certainly lived up to my expectations so far. One aspect that particularly stands out is the unique and challenging enemies, such as the elusive Poltergeists.

In the game Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, adventurers will come across grotesquely altered creatures as they traverse the radioactive landscape. While common perils often involve mutated rodents and larger beasts, the poltergeists are distinct foes that set themselves apart from others.

Based on the type of Poltergeist they encounter, players might find themselves controlling an electric-gas mass with psychokinetic powers or a fireball causing burn damage. Let’s explore strategies to defeat both the Electrical and Infernal versions of these specters in Stalker 2.

How to Beat the Poltergeists in Stalker 2

In the gripping opening scenes of Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, I found myself face-to-face with a spectral entity in an old, corroded bunker. As I stepped inside, it became clear that something wasn’t right – objects began to float and slam against me, hinting at the presence of a mischievous Poltergeist lurking nearby.

While initially meeting the monster lies ahead in the bunker, players have the option to bypass it and move straight into the cave. Yet, should you choose to confront and defeat an electric or fiery Poltergeist, here are some strategic tips.

How to Beat an Electric Poltergeist in Stalker 2

Facing off against an electrical variant of the Poltergeist is relatively easier compared to the fire variant. It has multiple attacks, including using telekinesis powers to shoot objects and quickly pass through you, which also deals damage. Here’s how to deal with it.

  1. Start by slowly getting close to the Poltergeist and shooting it with a shotgun.
  2. Once you hear it levitating an object, start running and jumping to avoid it hitting you.
  3. It will put up a barrier of rocks and dart around the area after getting hit. So, players will need to keep an eye on its movements and track it down.
  4. If the monster is far away, try to shoot a burst of SMG or AR bullets at it from a distance.
  5. Rinse and repeat the process until the monster is down.

How to Beat a Fire Poltergeist in Stalker 2

The fiery Poltergeist entity can be quite troublesome for players, causing harm and leaving a trail of burn damage. Initially, players will come across this spectral foe within the depths of the Detention Center’s underground area, if they are following the main storyline. Here are some strategies to handle it effectively.

  1. Be careful while approaching a fire Poltergeist as it’ll start inflicting a burn status effect on the players.
  2. Unlike the electric version, players will need to fight it from a distance, so using SMGs and ARs is recommended.
  3. Wait for the monster to stay still after repositioning and then start shooting at it.
  4. If the creature is in an enclosed space, throw a few grenades at it to deal great damage.
  5. Make sure to keep an eye on your health as it’ll quickly get critically low due to fire damage. Assign a medkit to your quick access slot to pop it as soon as your health is critical.
