As a seasoned Stalker, I’ve been through the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone more times than I can remember. The Zone has taught me to appreciate the hard-hitting weapons that can keep me alive amidst its treacherous landscape, and the AR416 “Monolith” is one such weapon. It’s a beast when it comes to dealing with those pesky Stalkers and mutants at a distance.
In the game “Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl,” the AR416, known as the “Monolith,” stands out among other assault rifles for its exceptional power and impact. Players can obtain this weapon relatively early in the game. Although many enemies tend to get close and attack, it’s generally more effective to engage them from a distance. Assault rifles like the AR416 are ideal because they fire multiple bullets with controlled recoil that effectively dismantle opponents. Here’s how you can secure the AR416 “Monolith” assault rifle in “Stalker 2” early on.
How to Get an AR416 Monolith Assault Rifle Early in Stalker 2
In my gaming adventures within the post-apocalyptic world of Stalker 2, I stumbled upon an intriguing find – the AR416 “Monolith” assault rifle. This beauty was hidden in a Journalist Cache nestled deep within the Sphere, a military outpost situated in the Lesser Zone region. It’s the same zone where Skiff encounters Solder during the “Beyond Seven Seals” main mission.
Taking Down the Patrolling Soldiers
Upon making my way into the northwestern I.P.S.F outpost, I found myself on high alert due to the guards constantly patrolling the area. Seemed like they had a keen eye for my character Skif, making it tricky to slip by unnoticed.
In case a conflict arises, prioritize eliminating the soldiers ahead of attempting to reach the Journalist Supplies since they are out in the open, making Skif a simple mark for the soldiers.
Go up the Ladder & Open the Cache
After all soldiers are removed from play, players will get a brief respite before another batch of soldiers appears. Following the left wall of the Sphere, you’ll eventually find an I.P.S.F container. Behind this container, there’s a corroded ladder that ascends to the rooftop of a small cabin.
Following your climb up the stairs, players will come across a Journalist’s hidden cache in the vicinity. Opening this cache rewards players with the AR416 Monolith assault rifle and some ammo. Once you’ve secured the loot, it’s crucial to swiftly exit the sphere as another batch of soldiers might begin firing at Skif.
How to Upgrade the AR416 Monolith Assault Rifle
In the Garbage area, players should consider upgrading to an excellent assault rifle, the A416 Monolith, which they can find and upgrade at Diode in Slag Heap. Attempting to upgrade it from Lens in Zalissya will result in a message saying “The Technician cannot install this upgrade.” Notably, players can directly equip a Holo sight onto the A416 Monolith without needing to install a separate scope mount.
