STALKER 2 Receives Mixed Feedback, But The Entire Franchise Soars Regardless

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that STALKER 2 has left me utterly captivated and intrigued. Despite the storm of opinions swirling around it, this game has managed to carve out a unique niche for itself in the vast landscape of modern gaming.

After over a decade of eager anticipation, I’ve finally got my hands on STALKER 2, and let me tell you, it’s left me spellbound! In my personal assessment, I’d give this masterpiece a 9 out of 10. Many other gaming enthusiasts seem to agree with me, but the game has certainly stirred up some heated debates within the broader community. Some are raving about it, while others… well, they seem to have a different take on it.

Across social media, streaming services, and gaming communities, there’s a surge in interest for the STALKER series, largely due to the release of STALKER 2, which has received a variety of reactions.

They’re Not Bugs, They’re Anomalies

A frequent criticism aimed at STALKER 2 is its abundance of bugs and performance problems, but it’s not as dire as some portray. Having invested around 30 hours into a pre-launch version myself, I can honestly say that players might be unaware of the numerous issues that GSC Game World addressed before release.

As STALKER 2 progresses, it’s expected to become even more impressive. When modding communities like GSC lend a hand, the timeline for these enhancements will see a significant reduction, speeding up the game’s development process.

On Twitch, STALKER 2 experienced significant surge during its debut, reaching a high of 415,708 concurrent viewers. Notably, Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, highly anticipated for quite some time before its release, attracted approximately 552,000 viewers just over a year ago.

On Steam, every STALKER game has seen a player gain in the last 30 days.

For example, The number of players for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl has increased by 40%, and Call of Pripyat has seen an increase of 37%.

In its debut on Steam, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl attracted a peak player count of 113,587. However, it’s anticipated that this number could be multiplied by two or three when it becomes available on Xbox and PC via Game Pass. Since Stalker 2 is free on the widely-used subscription service, it’s expected that most of its players will originate from there.

Despite the mixed opinions on social media, STALKER 2 really isn’t doing so badly.

The game on Steam boasts an impressive 80.5% positive feedback, while Metacritic assigns it an overall score of 74. Despite this lower-than-expected rating, it’s important to note that one critic described the game as extremely unstable, saying, ‘Unfortunately, Stalker 2 is, without a doubt, the most unsteady game we have reviewed in a long time.

GSC Game World is actively working on social media, assuring players that they’ll continue to fix and improve the game to make it as polished as possible, addressing any issues found in the initial release.
