As a seasoned Stalker who has braved the treacherous expanse of the Zone for years, I can confidently say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a masterpiece of immersive storytelling and tough choices. One such choice presents itself during the King Of The Hill Mission: should players kill The Shah or Roosevelt?
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players will encounter numerous challenging decisions that may leave them torn. Some of these choices, like the one during the King Of The Hill Mission in St.Alker 2, could cause a dilemma for players due to their weighty consequences.
In the mission titled “A Deal With The Devil,” players will be tasked with eliminating two of Garbage Zone’s Kingpins, specifically either The Shah or Roosevelt, on behalf of Varan. However, the decision to target The Shah or Roosevelt lies with the players. Here are some factors they might consider:
Should Players Kill Roosevelt In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl?
employ stealth tactics, infiltrating the base secretly via the back entrance behind the shooting range.
Should players eliminate Roosevelt, they must acquire his Personal Digital Assistant to fulfill the Mission Goal, then transport it to Varan. After this task is accomplished, the location of Roosevelt’s Secret Hideaway will become visible on the map.
As a gamer, I found myself in a situation where taking down Roosevelt seemed like the right move. He wasn’t just any ordinary foe; he was a cunning, dangerous outlaw manipulating the Commissaire for his selfish gains. Eliminating him felt like ridding the game world of a menace. And let me tell you, sweeping through his entire base was a goldmine!
Should Players Kill Shah In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl?
Similar to Roosevelt, eliminating the character known as the Shah isn’t straightforward this time around. Unlike before, there are no hidden passageways. Instead, there are just two options to carry out this task discretely. The initial approach is found within the Secondary Mission titled “No Honor Among Thieves.” If players decide to assassinate Docent during this mission, they will uncover the location of Shah’s first Hideout. Upon bringing Shah’s Companion to the doorman, they will be granted access.
create a path of violence leading to Shah. If they choose this method, they’ll need to get past numerous bouncers first before they can focus on Shah, who is concealed on the second level of The Bar.
After Shah has passed away, retrieve his PDA from his person. This device will disclose the hiding spot for Shah’s Stash, located northwest from the Brood Bar, atop a Ward base rooftop. The stash holds a customized UDP and a Silencer, making it potentially valuable to loot.
As a keen observer, I find myself in a fascinating predicament: slaying Shah won’t impact the storyline straight away, but his demise would leave Garbage vulnerable, open to the rule of either Roosevelt or Varan. The choice is now in our hands – we decide who to eliminate next. However, there’s an additional route to consider.
What Happens If Players Kill Both Shah And Roosevelt In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2?
If the players choose to eliminate the harmful gangsters responsible for the trash, they can target both Roosevelt and Shah, but they must do so before returning to Varan. This action won’t result in any additional penalties, but it will grant them access to both Shah and Roosevelt’s Hidden Caches, which contain some valuable loot.
Make sure you grab both PDA devices from the bodies, as it’s crucial for discovering the hideout locations where the weapons and ammunition are stored. Failing to do so could lead to these locations being inaccessible, causing players to miss out on those valuable resources.
However, there’s an additional method for players to swiftly wrap up matters: by defeating Varan.
What Happens If Players Kill Varan In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2?
If the players wish to avoid the hassle of eliminating both Kingspins and expedite the process, there are two alternate paths they could consider instead of fulfilling the Deal With The Devil.
One option could be: Firstly, it’s required to give Varan 20000 game coupons in exchange for the information. While this might seem high, those who have exploited the money farming glitch would likely have enough funds saved up.
An alternative approach for this task is eliminating Varan and his crew (about 10 of them, be careful), which offers a quicker route to finish the quest since Varan intends to deceive us from the start. This action skips other objectives and terminates the King of The Hill Quest.
Once you have finished what you were doing, retrieve the Garage Key from Varan’s body, descend to the lower level, unlock the storage room door, and plunder the two bodies within to accomplish your Mission Goal.
Regardless of the choices made by the players, upon their return to the Slag Heap, they’ll discover that it is now under control of The Ward’s soldiers. This marks the beginning of a fresh quest.
As a dedicated player, I can tell you that there’s an opportunity for me to return to Garbage and eliminate both Shah and Roosevelt, should I wish to plunder their bases. Even if I decide to take out Varan first before claiming the “King of the Hill”, they are still within reach.
