As a long-time fan of the Stalker series, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration as I read today’s news about the latest delay in the release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. I was looking forward to finally getting my hands on this highly anticipated sequel later this year, but now it seems like we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer.

In early January, GSC Game World unveiled a new trailer for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl and assured us of its September release. However, it seems that date was not set in stone as the studio has recently announced another delay, pushing the game’s launch to November instead.

In their latest press announcement, GSC Game World, developers and publishers of Stalker 2, revealed that the game’s release will be postponed by two months to enable the team to tackle technical problems and enhance the final product to align with fan expectations. Additionally, a developer deep dive for Stalker 2 is scheduled for August 12th in partnership with Xbox.

Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World expressed in a recent update, “We understand that you may be growing weary of the wait, and we deeply value your patience. The next two months will provide us with the necessary time to address more unforeseen issues (which can also be referred to as ‘bugs’). Your continued backing and comprehension are greatly appreciated – it’s essential to our team. We share your eagerness in bringing the game to you as soon as possible, so you can enjoy it firsthand.”

The long-awaited Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now scheduled to hit shelves for Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 20th. Despite numerous hurdles throughout its development, primarily due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, fans are keeping their hopes high that this will be the last postponement.
