STALKER TV Adaptation Talks ‘Underway with Netflix’, It’s Claimed

As a dedicated fan who has traversed the hauntingly beautiful yet dangerously unpredictable world of STALKER for countless hours, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of seeing this cherished franchise make its way to the small screen via a Netflix adaptation.

According to Maksym Krippa, owner of GSC Game World, talks are ongoing with Netflix for a TV adaptation of the survival-focused FPS series, STALKER. In the past month, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl was launched, receiving mixed reviews, but it’s now been disclosed that the game has already generated profits for GSC.

Within just two days, Heart of Chornobyl had sold a million copies, despite being listed on day one on both PC and Xbox Game Pass. It would be the latest in a long line of games to get the television adaptation treatment, following in the footsteps of shows like The Last of Us and Fallout.

Never Say Never

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news: Maksym Krippa, the enigmatic entrepreneur behind gaming giants like GSC Game World and Natus Vincere, has confided that they’re exploring a TV adaptation of STALKER, potentially in partnership with Netflix. In an interview with Forbes Ukraine, he expressed his heartfelt desire to witness STALKER brought to life on the small screen through an innovative new medium.

It seems that the idea hasn’t been definitively agreed upon yet, but it might not require a lot to persuade Netflix to join us.

Over the past few months and years, series such as Riot Games’ Arcane, Amazon’s Fallout, and HBO’s The Last of Us have soared in popularity, attracting millions of viewers. Given the success of STALKER 2 since its release last month, it seems likely that a high-quality show based within the richly detailed world of the game could also achieve significant success.
