As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest update for Star Wars: Hunters has truly caught my attention. The addition of Nox, the former Night Wind assassin, brings a fresh perspective to the game and her unique abilities are sure to shake up the arena. The Endor Aftermath battlefield is also an intriguing touch, as I’ve always been a fan of the Star Wars universe.

The fourth season of the free-to-play hero shooter game, Star Wars: Hunters, has just started, bringing a wealth of new content and incorporating numerous updates. Previously, Season 3 of Star Wars: Hunters was released on September 24.

Originating from Zynga and its affiliate NaturalMotion, the game titled “Star Wars: Hunters” is a squad-based shooter in an arena setting. It officially launched on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch on June 4th. Powered by the Unreal Engine, this game takes place between the end of the original Star Wars saga and 2015’s The Force Awakens. The character roster in this “Hunters” team includes a Jedi droid, a Sith assassin, a Mandalorian vanguard, an Imperial Stormtrooper, and even an Ewok warrior. The newest season of “Star Wars: Hunters” introduces additional characters to the roster, offers new content, and incorporates updates.

In Season 4: Survival Instinct, the lineup of characters in Star Wars: Hunters expands to include Nox, a nimble archer who was once an assassin for the Order of the Night Wind. She’s on a quest to reunite with her missing sister. Notably, her former organization was showcased in the Disney+ miniseries The Book of Boba Fett, alongside Temuera Morrison and Pedro Pascal. With her poisoned arrows, Nox has a knack for dealing significant damage while maintaining agility.

In addition to other changes in Season 4, there’s Endor Aftermath, a map based on the iconic battlefield from Star Wars: Hunters that decided the Galactic Civil War, and Scrap Salvage, a fresh resource-gathering game mode. The ongoing season, launched on November 26, offers 228 new cosmetic items and various events like the Feast of Prosperity, which is also found in Star Wars: The Old Republic, an MMORPG by Electronic Arts. In terms of game balance, Season 4 has adjusted the settings for Charr, Rieve, Sentinel, and Vex characters.

Previously in the Star Wars: Hunters series, titled “Echoes of the Rebellion,” they introduced a new character – Pilbush, an Ewok warrior – to the game. Additionally, a fresh map modeled after the icy planet Hoth was unveiled. Similar to Endor, Hoth was the site of a pivotal battle in the Star Wars universe, as seen in the franchise’s main storyline.

Based on information provided on the official Star Wars: Hunters website, the Season 4: Survival Instinct is scheduled to continue until late January 2025. This extension provides the development team with additional time for releasing updates and creating immersive gaming experiences. Additionally, it offers players more opportunity to delve into all the content that the new season has in store. The mobile game currently holds an average score of 60 on OpenCritic, receiving positive feedback for its enjoyable gameplay mechanics, but critics have noted a lack of other captivating aspects.

Star Wars: Hunters Season 4: Survival Instinct Patch Notes

New Hunter

Nox

Prepare to square off against rivals! The latest addition to the arena, Damage Hunter Nox, has made its entrance! Originating from a secluded village on Iridonia, this former Night Wind assassin seeks the limelight not just for glory, but also to uncover clues about her missing sister.

Nox possesses the unique skill to unleash a volley of poisoned arrows simultaneously from her quiver, which she can either spread out to strike several adversaries or concentrate on a single target if charged, making it easier to hit and causing greater damage. Her Composite Bow also amplifies the damage when charged.

Nox, an agile hunter, boasts a second jump feature called Double Jump, activated while airborne with jet boots. She also possesses an Aerial Dodge ability, enabling her to swiftly dash sideways in the air. While dashing, if Nox employs her bow or the Poisoned Spread Shot skill, she momentarily hovers, granting her a brief window for aiming at targets while still airborne.

New Battlefield

Endor Aftermath

Presenting Endor Aftermath, a combat setting inspired by the famed Forest Moon of Endor. Combatants navigate through a deserted Imperial compound, now overrun by the encroaching forest. They’ll come across toppled bridges, dilapidated AT-ST walkers, and even a wreckage resembling a crashed X-wing, nestled right in the heart of the battleground!

Game Modes

Scrap Salvage

In Season 4, a novel gameplay option known as Scrap Salvage makes its debut! In Scrap Salvage, players aim to earn points by depositing Scrap into several Anzellans who have set up shop within the Arena and are constructing something. So, how do you acquire Scrap? By defeating your opponents! Whenever a player is defeated, they’ll drop some Scrap in addition to any Scrap they were previously holding.

Swift-minded Hunters can make use of randomly appearing Stockpiles during gameplay, providing a wealth of Scrap at irregular intervals!

Scrap Salvage will appear in Event queues this Season.

Arrow Assault

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited about diving into the fresh Holo-Arcade experience, the Arrow Assault Mode, a special salute to our latest Hunter, Nox! In this spinoff of Squad Brawl, all eight combatants will find themselves in the Arena, assuming the role of Nox, but with a limited and re-tuned set of abilities. Let’s see who can master these adjustments and claim victory!

Nox can dodge enemy fire with the help of Aerial Dodge, and she amplifies her attacks using her Composite Bow for greater impact. Eliminating foes critically deals extra damage, which could potentially take down an opponent in a single strike!

Huttball

In the past, when a player in Huttball used an ability like Rieve’s Ruthless Pursuit or Imara Vex’s Grapple while carrying the Huttball, they would have to let go of it. However, this rule has been changed so that players can now make use of their traversal abilities without having to relinquish the Huttball.

The role of movement is significantly crucial in the gameplay of Hunters, and we think this modification enhances matches by making them more entertaining and action-packed. Moreover, it will give a chance for more Hunters to excel in this mode, transforming mobile Hunters into effective carriers, rather than the current setup that favors tankier Hunters.
