As a seasoned gamer who has witnessed the evolution of Star Wars games since the days of the original Battlefront, I must say, Respawn Entertainment’s announcement for the PS5 Pro update of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has me more than excited! After diving deep into the lush landscapes and intense battles of this game back in April 2023, I can attest to its charm and potential.
Respawn Entertainment has revealed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will receive a new update, enabling compatibility with the freshly launched PlayStation 5 Pro.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which came out in April 2023, was generally well-liked but had some technical problems. It’s now available on PS4 and Xbox One too. The recent PS5 Pro update brings enhancements, offering a wide range of graphical and technical improvements that make it an exceptional choice for players upgrading to the console.
Here’s the enhancements for on PS5 Pro, then:
- Visibly higher base resolutions in both Quality and Performance modes.
- Quality mode retains a 4K resolution and ray-traced elements but is now upscaled from 1800p to 2160p
- Performance mode now runs at a higher resolution of 1800p (upscaled from 1200p) and includes raytraced occlusion and reflections while continuing to target 60 fps.
According to Chris White in our 9/10 review, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is bound to delight a multitude of fans, regardless of their familiarity with the broader Star Wars saga. The combat and navigation are exceptional, and while some boss battles can be as tough as Beskar steel, vanquishing a legendary adversary brings an indescribable sense of elation. There’s a wealth of activities to engage in and stories to explore, all the way up until the final scene. It never lets up, offering the same level of excitement and engagement found in some of the most cherished Star Wars tales. Cal Kestis has earned a spot among my favorite Jedi characters, and even after completing the story, I continue to discover new aspects. I can’t get enough of this game, and I’m confident that many others will share the same sentiment.
