Star Wars Jedi Survivor PS5 Pro Patch

2023 saw me diving into the galaxy once again with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a game developed by Respawn and EA. And guess what? Even after nearly two years, this title continues to stand tall as one of the most triumphant additions to the Star Wars franchise in my gaming experience.

In its debut year, the “Star Wars”-inspired soulslike game was a blockbuster hit and maintained its success by outperforming Ubisoft’s “Star Wars Outlaws” in 2024 sales rankings.

To put it simply, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn’t overshadowing Star Wars Outlaws; instead, it’s demonstrating just how impressive Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is as a game.

To maintain the game’s momentum, Respawn Entertainment has at last addressed significant visual problems that have persisted in the game since the release of its PS5 Pro upgrade patch last November 2024.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Patch 1.000.013

The latest update, labeled as version 1.000.013, comes with succinct and delightful changes, yet these modifications hold significant weight for gamers eager to embark on Cal Kestis’ adventure without encountering annoying glitches while playing on their high-end PlayStation 5 Pro.

Enthusiasts were anxiously looking forward to the enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro edition, as one of its key features was that ray-tracing effects could still function effectively within the Performance mode due to the improved hardware.

The game improved significantly when it functioned smoothly, however, foliage and fog (both prevalent in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) suffered from significant flickering and clarity problems. Many of the issues were attributed to Sony’s internal upscaling technology, PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution).

For upscalers, troubles such as artifacting, instability, and clarity problems are not new findings. Even in the age of FSR 3.0 and upcoming DLSS 3.0 (later to be DLSS 4), there remains intense discussion on whether the performance enhancement is justified given the recurring discomfort experienced in numerous games as a result of imperfect integration and teething problems with the technology itself.

According to the official EA Star Wars Reddit post, the 10th update for the game series brings Star Wars Jedi: Survivor up to the most recent PlayStation State Restoration (PSSR) version.

Making these adjustments leads to a decrease in leafy vegetation and fog flicker, significantly enhancing the quality of reflections seen on the Koboh River.

Although there are ongoing concerns about occasional instability, such as unexpected crashes near Rambler’s Reach, Respawn is eager to address these issues in upcoming updates. Here’s hoping for a fantastic 2025 if you enjoy the antics of rogue Padawans and Nightsisters!
