Star Wars Outlaws Fixing Controversial Gameplay Mechanic

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen games rise and fall like the tides of Bespin’s cloud city. The launch of Star Wars Outlaws was a bit rocky, but as a die-hard Star Wars fan, I’ve been hanging on for dear life, hoping to see it soar. The instant fail stealth missions on Mirogana have been a thorn in my Wookiee hide since day one, and I’m glad to hear that the creative director, Julian Gerighty, acknowledges the issue.

Julian Gerighty, creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, announces an upcoming update aimed at enhancing the challenging stealth missions that currently result in immediate failure. As the first open-world title within the Star Wars universe, Massive Entertainment’s latest release hasn’t yet reached the heights attained by other Star Wars games like the Star Wars Jedi series. Despite some setbacks that Star Wars Outlaws has faced, the game is gradually growing and refining with each passing moment.

As a passionate gamer diving into the galaxy far, far away, I’ve found myself embracing the lawless lifestyle in Star Wars Outlaws. This game draws heavily from the original trilogy to create its gritty atmosphere. However, the launch hasn’t been perfect, causing Ubisoft’s shares to dip slightly, around 10%, in the days following the release of Star Wars Outlaws. Despite this initial hiccup, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are committed to refining the player experience. They’re gathering feedback and analyzing data points to identify any gameplay or features that might not be living up to expectations.

During a recent conversation, Julian Gerighty, the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, discussed the game’s performance and revealed some details about its upcoming features. However, it appears that the stealth missions on Mirogana haven’t gone as planned, particularly in the initial stages. Gerighty pointed out that these early missions are tougher than anticipated, with the intention of building tension for the player. Unfortunately, based on the team’s observations, these missions don’t seem to have the intended effect, making them more challenging than players expect.

Star Wars Outlaws Preparing to Patch Stealth Missions

As a gamer, I recently took note of Gerighty’s feedback on those tricky stealth missions. He pointed out that when you get spotted by the enemy, it’s an instant fail – not exactly our cup of tea! However, he didn’t delve into specific changes, only mentioning that they aim to make these missions feel less unfair. Instead of eliminating the fail state altogether, Gerighty hinted at numerous opportunities where improvements can be made to make these missions more enjoyable and transparent.

“In my opinion, that was an error, and it’s something we plan to rectify. I’m not suggesting we eliminate the ‘fail’ state altogether, but rather, I believe there are numerous opportunities for enhancement that will make the experience far more engaging and comprehensible.

Beyond ongoing enhancements to the game through updates and upcoming expansions, fans can anticipate more game content ahead. Earlier announcements hint at additional features on the horizon, and players have begun expressing their desires for what they’d like to see in future updates. One frequently requested feature is a New Game Plus mode for Star Wars Outlaws, a popular addition that many games introduce from the outset or include as a post-release update, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
