Star Wars Outlaws: How To Fire Stun Shots

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the galaxy far, far away more times than I can count, I must say that Star Wars Outlaws has certainly caught my attention. The game’s unique approach to weaponry, particularly Kay’s blaster, is a breath of fresh air in this franchise.

In the game ‘Star Wars Outlaws’, the primary weapon that players will rely on is Kay’s blaster. Although other weapons can temporarily be found and utilized, Kay’s blaster stands out as it can be enhanced with various modules. These upgrades offer unique firing modes, each having distinct forms.

Kay’s blaster is incredibly adaptable, allowing for various modifications or add-ons without restricting access to the built-in Stun Shot feature. Unlike other modules, the Stun Shot isn’t something you can swap out, but it provides a distinct shooting option that can swiftly neutralize even the most formidable adversaries.

How To Use The Stun Shot In Star Wars Outlaws

Regardless of your blaster setup, the Stun Shot will always be an accessible feature, and it comes pre-equipped when you acquire the weapon, without needing any additional upgrades. You’ll find a small icon at the bottom left corner, to the left of your blaster module icon, which indicates the Stun Shot is ready to use. The icon resembles a ‘z’ inside a tiny bubble. This cooldown timer can be seen as a circle surrounding the icon, and it displays how long you’ll have to wait before using the Stun Shot again after firing.

To the left of the icon, you’ll find the button for launching your stun shot: Press R1 on PlayStation, F on PC, or RB on Xbox. Make sure you have a clear target before pressing the button, as the shot will be released instantly and its accuracy is near-perfect to the location of your crosshair. The Stun Shot can only be used once before it goes on cooldown, regardless of whether you hit anything or not.

How Powerful Is The Stun Shot

The Stun Shot will immediately take out all normal enemies, even elite Imperial Troopers. While it is a stun shot instead of outright killing them, enemies hit by it are considered dead in game terms as they won’t get up and will drop anything they would normally drop. There are a few enemies big enough to shake off a stun shot like massive creatures and Death Troopers. Hitting a Death Trooper with a stun shot will leave them staggering for a few seconds, but won’t be enough to take them down.

Can You Speed Up The Stun Shot Cooldown In Star Wars Outlaws

Although the Stun Shot is one of Kay’s top weapons, its recharge time can be quite slow, especially given it’s your most potent blaster option. However, there are certain items of equipment you can add that will boost the Stun Shot’s recharge rate. Equipment is the only method to quicken the charge speed of this powerful shot, and early game options exist like the Scoundrel Belt, which can be found on the initial planet.
